I've been to Mexico and even flying with the gulf stream back to Europe is a 6 hour flight,Sooooo there for we will have to have a deal in place by tonight to have him fly back tomorrow,to tie up a deal,Coupled with the fact were apparently negotiating with a Portuguese team.

That's even if he gets permission off the national team.......Everton do not do these deals on deadline day

That's what a meant Elvis.

Why would he come back though? He still has to play for Mexico.

1. We do a deal with Benfica using other methods than in person.
2. He does a medical over there, with a Mexican hospital using Mexican practitioners.
3. A rep flies over or we hire a lawyer to sort out personal terms.
4. He does the Everton media stuff next week when he returns to Europe.

All on deadline day....mate Everton don't do this.Mate not one of these bash the board types,But leaving all this to the last day,on such a big transfer?? were not capable

i appreciate what you are saying

so there is still a 5 hour flight for someone to take....our doctors,or him?..........so i said before a deal needed to be in place today.

As long as both the selling team & the team buying send off the relevant paperwork to the relevant associations before the deadline of 11pm showing an intention to buy and an agreement has been reached, the transfer can still go thru without a medical happening beforehand. (I work in the office for a league 2 team!)

Even then, in this day & age, a medical in Mexico is entirely possible. For all we know we have a private plane with club staff on its way right now. But its not really an issue getting the medical sorted tbh.

One process that remains open is the eventual transfer of Raul Jimenez, who is focused on the selection of Mexico awaiting news. The 26-year-old striker is in constant contact with his businessmen as he welcomes the prospect of joining Everton, where he can line up more regularly.
Negotiations have intensified in recent days, but for now the agreement seems difficult. The Liverpool club is still looking for a successor to Lukaku, meanwhile transferred to Manchester United, and has already made an offer of 35 million euros. The president of Benfica, Luís Filipe Vieira, considered the value low because in January had in hand a proposal of 50 million, coming from China. The business, remember, did not materialize because the Mexican international rejected the possibility of pursuing the career in a secondary league.
The eagle leader still believes that by tomorrow night the British will raise the offer. Negotiations are being conducted by businessman Jorge Mendes, who has mediated the purchase of the attacker's pass that cost 22 million euros to the incarnated coffers. Luís Filipe Vieira believes that he can monetize this investment, and already in the present window of the market. It should be stressed that the incarnates have already ensured an alternative to the eventual exit of the jersey 9 (see below), but if a solution can not be found in a timely manner, the player will continue at the orders of Rui Vitória.

Raúl Jiménez is following with some anxiety the negotiations, because although he feels happy in Lisbon already understood that he will have many difficulties in gaining the title with the arrival Seferovic. With the World Cup in hand, the player is ready to move to a club that plays a competitive league, and Everton qualifies.
Sure, the market is closing and the English club also has alternatives in the pipeline. According to the English press, coach Ronald Koeman has already asked for speed from Everton and is ready to host the Spanish international Llorente, who line up at Swansea.
