Poor sign that. Can't beat a dire Wednesday side away would suggest a very long hard slog of a season.

Consolidate mid-table and hope for some good youth players to come through.

At the start of the season I think Sunderland would have been happy with 5 points out of 9,big game on Saturday v dirty Leeds

Nah not really. I tend to find Sunderland fans are the sort to be 'everyone likes us' types when they play garbage football, 'salt of the earth' try-harding.

Absolutely loved watching it last season in particular. 'we're bad but at least everyone is patting us on the head'. Where's your self-respect?

I think you're thinking of their neighbours...

Sunderland fans acknowledge they're crap but still turn up to watch and then i'd bet the entire city wouldn't dream of supporting any other club despite how crap they have been.

My adopted 2nd club due to similarities with ourselves when growing up! Being the perceived crap club amongst delusional 'high flying' neighbours!

my thoughts exactly. Have lived in County Durham for 26 years and would always choose Sunderland as my favourite north east team. Was made up when Reidy was the manager and Niall Quinn is very easy on the eye. They are a proper club- strong community roots, very much like us.

NCLFrandel you seem like a nice chap so I'm going to say it how I feel it with you, if I may.

This is a site for the fans of the Everton. Sure, lots of frandels may have a second team (like you, or @FCBarça with er Barca, and even @bizzaro with Villa).

But these bozos, they support Sunderland!!! Not Everton at all! They want us to make nice about their ill-begotten outfit and let me frank, Sunderland is a whole bag full of tosh with fans who do not understand the finer things of the beautiful game.

I think a stand should be made here. I hope Sunderland are relegated again and I will be cheering on the opposition every game henceforth.

lol I'm not a fan by any means - I am an Everton fan, but go to games up here from time to time as I like football and can't always travel to GP for a variety of reasons at this moment in time. Cheers though
