2017/18 James McCarthy

Covers more ground and has a better touch than Idressa. If fit and willing to stay is a seamless fit into our midfield for all cup games. Has a higher ceiling, higher sell on price, and can contribute more than Barry if he is fit and in form. He also won't give away a free kick 25 yards out every game like Barry does. No one seems to mention the fact that Barry has probably directly caused us to lose or tie over 7 games since he has been here. I like Barry over all but McCarthy is better.
Mate.

Theres no need to re-write history, Jamo and Gaz Baz were VITAL to us in their first season together, a superb pairing and Jamo when fit is still IMO an outstanding DM, but sadly hes currently going from 1 injury to the next and he will struggle for games this season you would imagine.

It would probably be in both parties interest if he was to move on, but if he doesnt and can stay fit, hes a still a very good player in my eyes.

The one where he covered the most ground in the premier league. I think 2013-2014 season. But you know, you have been around for about 4 months so probably before your time.

OK, first things first

And secondly, 4 months?

Not against McCarthy by the way, just most people in the world of football seem to recognise Gueye as one of the busiest players in the league now, so comparing him to McCArthy from 3 seasons ago is a bit daft IMO.

I think McCarthy when healthy can be a good player, and valuable backup. But the fact is not only is he not healthy, but hes too foolish to seemingly ever get healthy. His inability to both patiently wait to get healthy, and his inability to learn from his past mistakes make it so we should definitely sell if we can get anywhere near 20 million.

If hes willing to let ONeill derail his career, hes not that bright and should be sold immediately, because we dont need someone to keep the physios extra busy.

Born in Scotland to Scottish parents, he is Scottish.

He is part of an Irish community (including his parents and native-Irish grandparents) who were victims of forced displacement from Ireland to escape bigotry, famine and oppression. Your post is absolute nonsense and highly-insulting to one of our players and all Irish supporters. Hand your head in shame son!

James McCarthy considers himself 100% Irish. He isn't like Tony Cascarino or Matt Holland chancing their arm to play international football.
