Brian mate, you heard about Shane Duffy?

Well internal bleeding is a real risk in collisions like that - and even in less collisions bruising to the intercostal muscles around the ribs (as well as the possibility of fracturing ribs) means that they can be amongst the most painful.

As when you breath there is movement in them and this movement creates pain after an impact. Its how players get "winded" and cannot get their breath back.

Have seen it before - usually someone in that situation actually has to be given oxygen.

I agree - Vic lacks focus. And needs to sort his head out

But calling him over that... nah mate. Sorry can't allow that. Genuine painful - similar to that you'd get in a car crash (just like Duffy had except he had a bleed).

Yeah they can be back quick - with analgesics and anti-inflamatories if theres no fracture... but if you kick someone in the chest 9/10 they're not going to be able to play on if they've bruised their intercostal muscles

I think its a bit harsh comparing Vic who is usually down at least once again and back up as quickly to stand on the half way line with hands on hips and tongue hanging out looking like he has just ran a marathon.

I don't think i've ever seen Vic play a decent game - he is all bark, and very little bite. Of course i see your point about protecting the players, and should always be taken to hospital if potentially injured - i just think Vic goes down quicker than a bird from slater st. ( for his size, strength )

Oh ffs grow up, so he's scored a few great goals. Both as a sub(as i said) I could youtube at least 5 Mcfadden goals just as good while he was at Everton. And guess what..!!

He's [Poor language removed] to..!!!

Altidore will end up back in MLS. Then go from club to club, before ending up playing for some obscure club in Canada. OR he'll end up in Scotland scoring [Poor language removed] loads of goals, and look good. Then we will remember Cadamarteri and Jukebox scored goals for fun up there.

Did you see the Birmingham game last season? How about the Stoke, Liverpool and Villa game the season before? How about his debut against Chelsea?

You accused him of basically feigning injury against Bolton and being back for the next game yet he missed the next four games with a muscle injury. I sense something personal here, did he flop his cobra out to your bird?

After watching all them YouTube goals, i bet there's a host of top European clubs scampering for his sig...!!!!

Em....

Maybe not hey!!!

Erm????

That touch by Donovan to get around the keeper was class. Easy finish by Jozy, nothing special from him there. But those moves by Jozy to get through the 3 defenders was great.

Right, so in summary:

He has surprising 1v1 abilities for someone of his size and age.

Yes the finish may seem very easy & straightforward, which I agree. Except, many seem to be arguing that he's "at best" a heskey type down the road. The major difference is that big slow target forwards cannot make darting runs into the box like jozy. Again, he is much faster than you think. So in essence he gives you the physical holdup presence capable of wearing down defenders AND the ability to sprint by slower defenders. Hence, the reason so many clubs have paid notice to his POTENTIAL.

Good talk though. If any of you have a spare tinfoil hat could you spare please?
