In fairness I do think the players were looking sharper today than what they have been all pre season, so there's that.

He's presence/influence is practically non-existent and I do think that Rooney is part of the issue.

I'm not concerned about Klassen yet. I think he'll just need time to adjust and slowly emerge as a boss player for us.

The problem is IMO (and a few lads have already mentioned it) you can't play him and Rooney together, they both want to run into the same pockets of space, what happens then is Klassen just starts to sit too deep, and because his game is all about making those runs into the box he just becomes non - existent.

Agreed. Siggurdson is a good player but he will be a bad signing if the idea is to play him with Rooney and Klassen.

Very hard to say for sure, but signs are that Rooney could turn into a huge problem with trying to get a system that works fluidly, LVG, Mourinho and in the England squad all failed to adjust to find his best position, so far no idea but looks like Koeman hasn't a clue about where he is best playing either, maybe because he has declined a large amount, IF he doesn't manage to find the fountain of youth soon, could be a massive problem with us this season.

Lookman clearly provided spark but the game changed for Everton's side when Ever Banega was substituted. He stays in the game, Lookman (and Martina) never see the ball and Martina's poor defending get exposed. The man was boss today.
