I don't think Besic as a CB is the answer because he too rash to be relied on but his cameo does highlight that we are missing some quality on the ball at the back.

Ditto with Lookman. Probably not ready to be a starter but he showed that are starting line up lack pace and ability in one v ones

Martina looks better on the left than the right. Holgate is very limited offensively at fullback. I wish they had entrusted Kenny with more game time in pre-season.

The team lacks pace, quality in CM and somebody who can hold the ball up at front.

I only caught the second half but decent game that, Sevilla are class and benega is quality.
Besic impressed at centre back
Lookman Looks decent/ready for the first team
I hope kenny gets a run in the team
Sandro's movement and finish for the goal was also decent
Looking forward to the start of the season, we should beat stoke comfortabley 2-0 COYB

Would Keane & Besic work together at centre half? Reckon we should've tried that at least once in pre season.
Besic always seems to me,like a RED card in waiting, both times in last few games, only been on mins then got yellow then had me thinking hes going to be sent off lol

And we've spent near £200mill...

Pickford
Kenny Keane Besic Baines
Davies Gueye
Lookman Klaassen Mirallas
Sandro

Reckon something like this could work for a starting XI in home games? Beginning to think Klaassen and Rooney in the team at the same time just isn't going to prove effective in a lot of games.

Rooney and Klaasen is a big no no noooooo. Sig might be in by Stoke though, and maybe a striker but im not sure.

Often seems to be the way with this squad that the players who come off the bench put in decent performances, and the ones who have started look a bit lethargic.

Hopefully Koeman will settle on/stumble on a combination that works in attack. In the absence of new signings, I think it's dropping Klaasen with Rooney in the top of the diamond. Gana and Schneiderlin behind would then work as a two. And Sandro, Lookman, Mirallas as a front three.

On the plus side, the mentality is infinitely stronger than under Martinez. So we can play badly like today, and still be in a game until the end. The problem is that this was a feature of last season that we needed to build on, and I'm not sure we have.

I think Lookman should start ahead of one of Klaassen, Sandro or Rooney. Don´t want all of them three on the pitch at the same time.
