Fair enough. We would never get £50m for him but it sets an expectation of a high fee. Just as it did with Rom.
I can't see us letting him go for £17m, especially to Spurs.i also don't think personal terms are agreed. That would be tapping up and reportable unless we gave permission, which we won't have. Why give away all our bargaining chips?

Would rather we kept him tbh. Some competition next season from the likes of Sigurdsson might be the thing to get the best out of him.

We're a considerably weaker team without Lukaku and Barkley.

I don't get how people aren't acknowledging the loss of Lukaku. Sandro hasn't played PL football and Rooney has scored 13 league goals in his last two seasons. Both good signings, but unless Sandro really hits the ground running we could be short up top.
