I must admit I'm struggling with the positives of Niang and a lot of the other names from Walsh's Italian trip are underwhelming on the face of it but there are plenty examples of players who have failed shining at the right club. Can't see that with Niang, would rather we looked at Giroud for similar money

Giroud is excellent. He really doesn't get the plaudits he deserves.

Howard (£), Oviedo (£), Gibson (£), Osman, Hibbert, Pienaar, Kone, McAleny, McGeady (hopefully, £), Cleverly (£) Oumar (hopefully, £), Leandro (hopefully), Tarashaj (maybe)... and a fee for Geri if he goes.

That's like a full squads worth of utter gash.

Up front the transfer policy seems to be:

...get rid of a goal scorer who can guarantee you between 17 and 24 goals per season in the PL, replace that with a decent forward who can get about 10 to 12 or so and a back up striker who can chip in with 5/6, and then add goals with a goals scoring late-arriving-into-the-box AMF.

Don't think we particularly want to get rid of Lukaku

Lookman for the future and same with DCL.

As for the other two they're both shocking and either didn't have pace they wouldn't be playing football at a high level

Niang looked all sorts of Sissoko the bits I saw of him. Ron wants that shape of player so who am I to argue but wouldn't be on my list.
