I don't want to lose a world class striker for anything like the ones we are linked with. I say we make Lukaku stay if the Carlos Baccas of the world are his replacement.
Scoring goals is our biggest issue for me to take us to the next level.
As I said above, let's wait and see who we end up with. All this talk could be pointless.
We cant make Lukaku stay, he wants what he wants. I suppose we could refuse to sell him, you would certainly get statements then, every week on the pitch.

Not sure to be honest. He wouldn't want to miss out on the World Cup by refusing to play the season or moping about. That said, he'd be absolutely awful for morale around the squad. Would be a big test for our manager and leaders within the team, that's for sure.

I doubt we're seriously interested in Bacca unless he's cut-price. Milan paid £21m for him in 2015 according to the BBC, I've only watched him in World Cups and Copa Americas really, but he helped Sevilla win two Europa Leagues in a row. £6-8m or a fee like that compared to £11-14m for Valencia seems OK to me, but I agree that I'd hope for someone more exciting to replace Lukaku!
Everton fans in the recent past would be licking their lips if we could attract and pull off a signing like Bacca! How things are changing!

All that is needed this Summer for me is at least one big moment. A "statement of intent" to the rest of the football world that Everton means business. Jose would have done that in a heartbeat, but maybe a world class player signing? Just that one big moment...

Il Messaggero are full of transfer news on Wednesday, as they look at the situation regarding the future of Keita Baldé at Lazio and the offers he’s apparently received and rejected.
According to the same newspaper a few weeks ago, Liverpool had bid around €20m for the forward, which the club promptly rejected, and now it’s up to their bitter rivals Everton to receive the same treatment, except that the rejection came from the player.
The Italian outlet suggest on Wednesday that the Toffees, who are looking to bolster their frontline as they prepare for Romelu Lukaku’s inevitable departure, had a bid accepted of around €30-35m, only to get turned down by the Senegal international.
Piecing everything together, it appears that the 22-year-old is holding out for a move to Juventus, as he looks to stay in Serie A, a league he became one of the stars of towards the end of last season.
Baldé ended up scoring 16 goals and picking up six assists in 34 appearances for Lazio last season, yet has refused to sign a new contract with the club as he looks to move up in his career.
With Lazio looking to sell at around €30m, and few Italian sides willing to offer that, a move to the Premier League might become his only option.
Still, there’s more than two months left of the transfer period, but expect this to be one of the recurring stories.
