I am hopeless with these things, sorry

This is Kenwright's legacy. Quality players see us as a stop gap, they don't respect us, and they want out at every opportunity. Shameful the way the club has fallen. This is his legacy. A legacy of false dawns, unfulfilled promises, mediocrity personified, and downright abject failure.

Part of me almost misses the way we operated under Moyes. One thing I give him credit for is that for the most part he did an amazing job of identifying the right personalities to contribute to the team and who put the team first. I felt a lot more positively about most of those players, not just your Cahill's and Arteta's but your Hibbo's and Kilbane's, and not one of them was close to the player that Lukaku is.

Yeah we will miss Lukaku's goals but I think it isn't going to be the end of the world. Let's face it, with him in the team we haven't done much better than Moyes was able to do by getting lesser players to perform greater than the sum of their parts.

Him leaving removes his guaranteed goals but even removing those goals we wouldn't have been much worse off this year and there's no denying that some of those games he scored in that he was a passenger for the other 89 minutes. It won't be the end of the world of we can get back to bringing players in who's priority is the team and not themselves.

He will do well wherever he goes but I won't really care and hold a soft spot for him like I still have for Felliani.

There's somewhere in between being happy he's going, and crying in a corner surely?!

Yes we will use the money to buy others, and hope they score us loads of goals. They might not though. Lukaku scored goals for sure.

What I would really want is for us to be so ambitious we could show him that we might actually be able to compete sometime in the near future so he would like to stay and be part of it. But alas that doesn't seem the case.
Well maybe not cry in the corner lol but you get what I mean. I don't think anyone could genuinely be happy he's leaving, but I'm happy that the circus will be leaving town. Every international break there's something else from Lukaku running his mouth, it's obvious he doesn't want to be here.

I'm on the same page as you mate regarding that last part but it just doesn't seem to be the case and I doubt anything is going to change it now. Have to make the best of a bad situation. I hope the club handle this quickly and efficiently and on the back of it strengthen the squad to push the top 4 and win a trophy!

He didn't want to be here this season I don't think. But still slotted more than anyone we've had in years.

It's all very well saying 'glad to be rid of him' and 'he can't control it' and so on. I wonder what people will be saying if we have a player who runs a lot, loves Everton and scores 3 all season.

We are so small time sometimes it's scary.

You can't hang on to someone who doesn't want to be here, like it or not Rom is causing unrest. How well were we doing until he comes out and says he's not signing that contract.

Even if we bring in someone who scores 15 goals a season we will be better off when everyone on the pitch aren't planning their next move. Can't wait for him to be gone to be honest, I would have happily kept him on for one more season but I've had it with his mouth now.

It's not small time to think of some of his poor attributes as it helps ease the pain of losing a true goalscorer, if we get someone who doesn't have such control issues it will enable us to keep possession (should mean less defending) and help spread the goals around. What's wrong with that?

Is it any wonder Rom's in demand when he can speak fluent HTML?

Yearh international break it's always happening but now we know he's deffo moving elsewere so let's sort it out

He's going. Pointless keeping a sulking Belgian week in week out. Prepare for life without him. Find a suitable replacement and play to his strengths.
