I was just on about lack of paper talk really, and as we all know Everton can start talks with a player right now and chances are it will still end up as a deadline day signing.

I'd hope that we could afford that kind of deal as we need strength in depth, and if we don't have the funds then I'd question our ambition.

We'll have to wait and see though, I'm hoping that we can have the summer that we were promised last year.

I was thinking about it from more of a bang for your buck perspective. Revenues are going to be up next year, and we are hopefully going to dump Naisse who along with Barry, Kone, maybe others.

Still, that'll hardly paying for any increase to Ross, Coleman, or Kevin.

We add 4 more legit options making 100k a week, that's a decent uptick on our wage bill. Probably add more to that as well. Should be affordable I think, but can we be spending 70k on Sagna? How much better is he than Jonjoe? Holgate?

I suppose a better question is, when is Coleman going to be ready and how good is he going to be.

If Kenny is as good as Unsworth is saying (and I really trust his judgement, he's done really well with the young lads and isn't one to give praise where it isn't true), then we won't need a new RB.

Unsy described him as the best RB of his age group in the country, which is as good praise as you can ask for.

I'm hoping that's the case mate as you're right, anywhere we can avoid spending big wages can help us afford improving elsewhere.

Martina doesn't seem like someone who'd improve us though, and if we were genuinely after him as it seems we are I'd rather pay Sagna £60k pw (if he's even available at that money of course) than Martina £30k pw - from both an experience and ability point of view.

Hard to be bothered about West Ham being after or even making bids for Barkley, Pickford and Iheanacho. After all last year we did the same with Witsel, Koulibaly and Mata - none of whom play for us.

If they sign that trio then fume on and fume well, but until then - meh.
