Well done...it's a wonderful feeling when you notice that youre getting in better shapeBeen getting to the gym twice a week for last 5/6 weeks
Bit of mobility to warm up
Core work - plank mainly side and weighted
Snatch complex to get going
Deadlifts or Squats
Then quick fire two sets of a push-pull combination with no break. Eg over head press & horizontal row.
Some sort of grip exercise to finish - farmers walks or toes to bar
Weight is dropping off
Feel much better
YesAnyone ever been to Crossfit?
Back training and playing hurling the last two weeks.
Also back doing gym work to get me back to a level of fitness I had in January.
Read a fantastic book about back pain that got me over the fear of hurting my back. Apparently it's all in my head now.

I want to give it a go. Traditional weights training is good but can be boring and thought Crossfit looked fun. Cheapest place I found in London was £120 a month. My gym membership is £20 ffs.Anyone ever been to Crossfit?

Deadlifted 170kg last night though. Yeah.
It's the social element and being pushed by others I like the sound of. I'd do it once a week instead of a gym session if I could pay £7. But London being London I don't think I'll find somewhere like that.Ended up going the other day, enjoyed it, very friendly atmosphere and pushed me to my absolute limit. Beyond in fact, as i almost threw up. Will attend again on Saturday, though you're right it is expensive and not really for students like myself. £7 PAYG is ok once or twice a week though.
Did the Fred a fortnight back and have to say it was one of the best events on a bike I've ever done - organisation, crowds, scenery, weather [it was a brilliant sunny day].Just over a month until the Maratona and training has gone really well. Done around 2,500km of really good work in the past two months and am feeling really good.

Only failure of the day was that I didn't make it up Hardknott - was starting to cramp a little and had to bury myself to get up the first steep pitch, levels off then and I was mentally feeling on top of it, but stood on the pedals for the final steepest third and the legs exploded. Needed a proper ten minute sit down before I could ride again.
Obv need to get stronger, but think the heat tipped things against me - 7 or 8 hours in the sun is well out of my comfort zone.
