Why, the double Dixie Award-winner of course.
We can talk about all the players we want til the cows come home but i believe the most important thing is that we aren't just signing players but building a unit. We see right now that half the team does its own thing, especially attacking and the lack of coherency sometimes is having a negative effect.
So we realistically need to be looking at players who will form a difficult unit to break down. We don't just need a creative player, we need one that will also pack the middle out and be able to throw a tackle in. We need wingers who will get back all game to protect the full backs, we need a striker (or two) who can run and cover ground to force the ball back into our half when we have lost it.
This is what we need to take us that next stage, it is all well and good us signing individuals but if they cannot form together then they will be weak links in the side. 11 players who can work together effectively and compliment each other will make us difficult to beat, and if we can score within the unit also, then that will make the difference.
All of the above is purely fantistical and probably talking out my arse to some people. I just believe that come the march / april part of the season when we need to be grinding out results, having that unit will be the best thing for us now. By having players who can grow over time will be even better, imagine a hardworking creative midfield player who after 2 years can also thread the eye of a needle on the pitch? Or a winger who starts as a fullback cover and within a couple years can beat 3 players and put it in the top corner when they feel like it?
I just don't want us to have an exciting summer and that is it, i want to grow over years, get better and to compete
And among those 11, we need leaders, winners, fist-shakers, and shouters. We've too many who just shrug their shoulders at the moment, too many who accept mistakes. And what we mustn't do is go down the Middlesbrough route when Robson was in charge, of paying way too much for and to players who weren't really bothered about the team.
More snide is a big big yes from me.
Exactly Geoff. This is what i mean about the players growing. We don't go and buy a 27 year old flair player who isn't arsed about the club. We bring a younger one in with potential, he grafts and improves so the player at 27 we then get is someone who is part of the club rather than just an expensive signing. And among those 11, we need leaders, winners, fist-shakers, and shouters. Also, leaf out of Spurs book and go guns blazing for De Vrij and Van Dijk. The Netherlands' first choice CB pairing.
Holland are crap though?
Right now you can't find even a jarg oneLet's play 3 and the back all season and remove the need to find some jarg Bulgarian wingers.
Dolberg would be very, very difficult to get I think. He's only young and will probably want to stay at Ajax for another year. On the other hand, he really is bloody good. Getting Klaassen may make Everton a more attractive prospect.

Yeah, i think Dolberg will be a little out of our reach, its similar to why Mbappe wont leave monaco this summer.
They have both only came into the team this year, any sort of move for either (Mbappe's case a United, Madrid etc) (dolberg's us, liverpool etc) would probably limit there game time and be a bit more unforgiving should they have that "dip" in form players of there age can tend to have.
Awful. Does wonders for a CB partnership to speak the same first language and work together across club and country though I reckons.
