Summer Transfer Window 2017

We are a 7th placed team with 7th place players. We are well off 6th and results against anyone above us has shown that. Look at yesterday. The keeper is a wax work, holgate is not a right back, jags is just too slow for a tip 6 team, williams is on the way out too, so is baines, dcl is not good enough, valentia wouldnt make utds bench, all are possible good enough to make a wba team and mowhere near good enough to make a top 6 team. We need 7/8 players who can start in first 11. Last summers window was very very poor. Hopefully this one will be exciting.

...linked with winger Nigerian winger Henry Onyekuru who plays in Belgium. A work permit might be a problem.

19 goals in 37 and 8 assists.

In contention to win Belgian player of the year too.

..I didn't post the links because the original source is a publication we don't recognise.

When you look at the age of this lad it does fit with our strategy so there might be something in this one. As you say, his stats are very good and the YouTube clips are worth a watch.

...I didn't post the actual link because it's a publication we don't like but it is a bizarre one. It says we've gone ahead of Celtic in the queue for this lad. He's never played for Nigeria so work permit could be an issue (less so in Scotland apparently). £7m quoted for the 19 year old.

Remember the name - Henry.

Still hopeful we pick up Dzagoev this summer. Been picking up a few injuries down to cska trying to rush him back, hopefully not done any lasting damage to the lad, but if we want to add 10+ goalscorers to the team, then he's that type of player, and one whom we could realistically get with ease and for 12-15m.

Worst that happens is he doesn't settle or becomes injury prone, but we'd still get most of that fee back selling him back to a Russian team, if he adjusts and his fitness is maintained, then could have a player for cheap whose one of those next level players we need.

For me anyway, be a good, calculated, low risk with potentially very high reward transfer

..we were linked to him in previous windows but I haven't seen anything lately. Is there still a queue after him?

Think most teams wouldn't take the risk on him mate, they'd rather go for an import to the league due to the poor record of Russian national players who went abroad.

Walsh does apparently have a very good relationship with the cska chairman though.

If we wanted him we could get him I'm certain.

Sorry, I rarely post links. Are their certain rules I need to adhere to?

Apologies!

..if you look at the article you posted earlier it probably contains another link to the publication the story was sourced from. You know the newspaper nobody associates with (Kelvin Mackenzie et al), well I think that is the original source of this story. Bit of an unwritten rule.

Also, I understand we shouldn't post Daily Mirror links because that paper gives Mr GOT grief for doing so.

Bang on as I saw it yesterday and continue to see it. Add Mirallas and half the bench to that list.
If you look at the table, this year more than any other, it is exactly where he team should theoretically be barring maybe the Shyte swapping places with City/Utd/Arsenal. We are where we reasonably should expect to be with that squad.

Maybe a little harsh, but we do need a number of quality additions to bridge the gap. To do that it gonna take serious investment. Lose lukaku and Barkley and you're talking about 3/4 of our starting 11 needing replacing.

I neglected to look at the source. Will be careful in future. Thanks

Do you think there's much chance of that happening mate? Links seem to have gone quiet.

He's had two hamstring injuries since January mate, and being honest I'd say unlikely for a few reasons, although the lad would fit us,perfectly and has all the criteria koeman has recently said we need to bring in, scores goals, right age range, proven in Europe and international and is a leader/winner.

Then again, player really wants,to move to a better league, the club financially need to sell, our DoF has a good relationship with the owner and has shopped in that league a few times prior, so wouldn't shock me if we went for him either. Especially so if we do end up sponsored by a USM company on the shirts or ground, as he's by a way the most popular Russian player.
