I'd make a cheeky bid for Sturridge from the shagite! Being a bit of a nince with them at the moment, but he is a player who needs to feel loved and even at the rs, his goalscoring record is excellent! If we could get him for what they paid for him, that would be great business!

its not really, hes near 28 and only once has he hit 20+ premier league goals. usually single figures.

Why would kouliably and van dijk join us o_O

Klopp and FSG aren't going to break the clubs record transfer by 15m and the most he's ever paid for a player himself by the similar amount on a cb mate.

Ignore what fans, pundits and the media are saying 'should' happen and look at the reality, he brought in a free cb in Matip, converted a 30 year old midfielder to play left back rather than buy one and brought in a 30 year old from nowhere in Klavan to provide cover.

IF Klopp spends money it will be in the attacking parts of the team, it's his mentality - Christ they even bought a attacking midfielder to then convert him to a holding role in Wijnaldum.

Ultimatley the problem with Liverpool and Klopp is a system one mate, you could stick two world class centre backs into that team and they would still be exposed against teams that have been doing so, because they are left so isolated against the counter
When they sign him you guys will have to admit that I have superiour footy insight

@bluestevon

You made a few posts highlighting the centre backs and (as I understand) they cant 'all' end up moving and clubs have budgets etc..

You listed: Koulibaly, Manolas, VVD, Keane, Macguire, Gibson, Lindelof, Bonnuci, Godin

there are of course plenty more like varane, laporte, marquinos, gimenez etc who are all linked with moves.

As yet, we have no idea who will stay/go from our own squad, however niasse, deulofeu and McCarthy alone would raise 40mil ish which could land one of the 'bigger' names and by adding one or two more sales of 'deadwood' as well as the 8mil for cleverley I think almost all of them would be attainable.

Hypothetically, lets imagine we were able to land one of koulibaly, VVD or Gimenez with funds generated from those outgoing sales.

Net spend would be zero and if we added another 40+million we could have 2 players hovering around the 'world class' level.

If we did indeed have 100mil to spend and we used sales+40mil to land two top centre backs I think it would be incredible business.

Our team would be transformed with a solid foundation in defence....and, as you say there are a lot of top centre backs out there for the right price.

Cleverly 8 million
Naisse. 12 million
Lennon 7/8 million
McGeady 2 million
Geri. 12 million
These are players I think most of us agree won't be here next season so 40 million in sales.
If Koeman brings in 4/5 players at least 2 will go as he has stated he likes a squad of 17/18 and use the young players to boost numbers.
McCarthy due to injuries and the Irish situation is likely to go along with Mori (if he brings in 2 CH)
Newcastle bid 20 million for McCarthy and we could reasonably expect
the same again.
Mori at least 15 million for a proven PL centre half.
So thats 75 million in sales.
If the Sissoko money from January (30 million ) from January is still in the drawer with the Arteta money then that's 105 million with the summer budget which we were promised would be substantial ,so say 80 million
That's 180 million to spend.
Koeman has promised Rom big ambitious signings and said stay and fight for CL with us so maybe this year we are bringing a machine gun to a gunfight.
Koubailly / VVD or a CH of that ilk is 50 million
Keane 30 million Hart Pickford Forster etc 25 million that's 105 million and 80 left.
That should buy two top class players to our Attacking /midfield options
Add Rooney on a free and that's 6 players either straight into the first 11 or fighting hard and close to it.
Koeman and Moshiri have promised big things and Koeman has proved ruthless in getting rid of deadwood.
Personally I'd like Hart /Keane /VVD / Fabregas or Mata ( to rotate with Davies for 3 years) ,Siggy and Rooney.
I've no doubt Walsh has one or two unknowns on his radar as well
This may all be rumblings and fantasy football stuff because it's scary to think of Everton with that size of a gross outlay.
But it's a new era and the vehicle for financing the stadium , the Finch Farm sponsorship , the new shirt sponsorship and the rumoured Chinese investment gives me the feeling that Moshiri is giving it one big no holds barred chance at CL
He seen how stadium development costs held Arsenal back in transfer spending and doesn't want the same to happen to us.
I could be a million miles away from the truth or spot on , who knows.
Only thing that worried me is Bill in charge of negotiations.
I read an article about the transfer of the lad from Belgium that fell through in Jan and Bill is still involved.
We need business done early and not deadline day stuff so Bill can save 3 months wages.
He nearly messed up the Schnederlin move till Koeman had a go on TV
Also poor Bills health is not the best
Wasn't he on deaths door this time last year and said goodbye to the fans before his miraculous recovery and sale of his shares.

Wouldn't mind that. Think it's really hard to plan for summer spending when there's no decision on Rom/Barkley yet. If they stay we fix the defence then bolster the attack with quality back-up.

If those to leave, well, I wouldn't even know where to start.

True to form, if we lost those 2 i'd bring in wonderkids In the way Dortmund and Monaco have done and build a team for the following season hoping to get lucky next season with top 4 if we outperformed. But really aiming for the following year when they have more experience.

I cant see us finishing below 7th as long as we brought in top quality

Actually like Gibson and if been honest would prefer him over Keane plus he is a left footed player . Huge summer ahead and can see GOT crashing a few times particularly coming towards the close of the window .. ..
I would ( in the words of KK) love it just love it , if on the 1st July we had got rid of 7/8 players spent 180 million on new signings , kept Rom and ROSS and RK came out and said.
" Our transfer business for this window is finished and unless something exceptional crops up we are happy with our squad for next season. "
Won't happen but it would make a few RS heads wobble.

Not a bench per se, I just wanted to show the whole squad with depth....all rotating in Europe, cups and league
