Ross Barkley

I think it's more offensive of the echo to use the race card when there is real racism going on in the world myself!
As for Ross as a blue I love him but anyone who ever watched him speak after a game has probably thought how thick he looks but I doubt he's arsed he's minted young and has a great career ahead of him unlike Kelvin McKenzie who will be gone and forgotten soon enough.
See this bothers me more in some ways, nobody here as far as I am aware knows Ross personally, he could be just shy and finds it hard talking in front of cameras. Forming an opinion of him based on interviews is simply wrong, I know many people who can come across this way but some are bloody geniuses. Not having a go just saying be careful.

Is that despite the fact most of the newspapers ran stories about he he could have chosen Nigeria back around the time he was first given a official cap for England mate?

I'm guessing your white mate, because if you where black or mixed race and someone said you looked Luke a gorilla I think you'd take it a bit more personally.

Maybe also the person who printed those stories about Hillsborough and stood by them for a long time, May, just may have thought twice about checking just to make sure?

He'll the first paragraph on Barkley on Wikipedia directly references his eligibility to have played for Nigeria due to his Nigerian grandfather. Or do you think a simple 30 second check of wiki is too much to expect from a journalist.

Do you really think that 'kin idiot would research a story about a footy player when he cant get basic facts about anything else in place? Here's what he thought: "I know, I'll have a pop at footballers and Scouse footballers in general" (hence the inclusion of Rooney in that pulled photo). He's thught it a great idea to use the type of crude illustrations that have worked down the years to defame anyone who isn't middle class and British as a knuckle dragger. It was a class attack if anything. Just on that alone Anderson should have gone to bat, but he had to widen it out from that for some reason. It comes to something when Joey Barton probably got the weight of the situation as primarily a class one quicker than Uncle Joe did....that's the Uncle Joe currently using his twitter account to attack Everton by the way...our stadium partner. Apparently we've stabbed the city in the back according to Joe. Nice.

Bull sh....

The question was asked, I answered.

Another question that could be asked is why use a racial slur on someone who to the untrained eye is not actually black?

I find the whole thing a bit of a stretch yet I am reveling in the crap coming McKenzies way purely because he is an objectionable human being.

He knew exactly what he was doing when he made the comparison. I'd imagine "I'll get away with this" would have been part of his mindset.

The guy is a terrible excuse for a human.

The sad thing is a large portion of the population of this country read that paper and will either have a little joke about it or actually enjoy it.

Worse still, you'll get the pseudo intellectual Breitbart style filth trying to convince you there's nothing wrong with it and it's not racist.

If any self respecting human / organisation that had unknowingly publishing a photograph comparing a 23 year old kid of Nigerian descent with a Gorilla, they'd have held there hands up by now, apologised and removed it.

"That" second tweet was bang out of order imo.

He has given those interviews after running eight or nine miles in 105 minutes, mostly in short bursts, and yet people expect him to be discussing philosophy ten minutes afterwards.

This last bit nails it.

As i have said I genuinely don't think there was a racial intent, but to offer no apology one way or the other sums them up.

raw
They're black in that gif

Your racist

Not saying he's thick at all but I guarantee most people getting offended have had the same thought watching his interviews same was said about Rooney Beckham etc!

People just get offended way to easy these days imo

Basically, he's a working class footballer with a strong regional accent so must be thick.

It can be offensive in more than one way. I consider it classist and racist.

Dave, not bothered about Anderson or what he said in the slightest, soon as I saw the article on another Everton site I instantly saw the racist aspect of it, by all means though find me a article by him where he insults and draws a comparasion of a white person with no mixed race with a gorilla etc?

I'm certain not only did he know, but it was intended to generate him publicity and its timing is zero coincidence with tomorrows date. He's a self publicist going through a messy divorce and needing to generate revenue and this will do so, without the accidental lol racist element it'd have been almost ignored.
