Bungle
Player Valuation: £90m
What would be the reaction over there if Koeman did get the job (unlikely as that is)? I suppose he'd get a good welcome because of that EC win back in the 90s. But would the cognoscente be wary?
Switzerland?

I also don't remember mentioning Cruyff, so how is this anything to do with me?Funnily enough, it was you that unearthed this in a way. I ws searching for an article about Koeman and Cruyff and came across that Q&A session from 18 months ago.
Sorry. Was I supposed to ignore it and suppress it. Somehow I dont think you'd have done that if it'd have been Martinez saying it. Do you?
Yeah, you're right lads.
The Everton manager is a Kopite. No biggy.
'kin ell.
He said as a kid he liked Liverpool.
As a football mad lad in Holland, the only English team he would ever see on TV would be those in Europe, and lets face it, that lot were pretty good at that lark back then.
But it suits your agenda to dig out an 18 month Q&A on a Southampton forum, (that beggars belief on its own), to label an Everton manager as a Kopite.
Should be ashamed.
No mate. It was a direct answer to a direct question about who he'd like to manage. The answer was unequivocally Liverpool. Just 18 months ago.He said as a kid he liked Liverpool.

It's interesting that all these threads are being derailed into digs at Koeman since Martinez did a Martinez.

Bit of an over-reaction.Should be ashamed.
Another over-reaction.You're an embarrassment to Evertonians the world over.
Pathetic!!
Etc etc.Beyond pathetic really.

Tbh, I dont particularly care. I'd care more if he was an ex Liverpool player and he managed Everton.
"Ashamed of myself" for posting an article on the internet?! Do me a favour. If I'd made it up then maybe. Talk about shooting the messenger.
@Adversus is the official Everton correspondent on there and don't you forget it.
Well, Van der Vaart is playing in Denmark. Can't quite wrap my head around that still. But honestly it just stems from his wife playing handball here.
Van Basten is at FIFA i believe?
Van Bronckhorst is doing a great, great job as Feyenoord manager.
RVP is tanning in Turkey with Erdogan.
Van Nistelrooy is probably doing some stuff at PSV.
Van Bommel is punching some winger somewhere.
Which "Van's" are there now? Van Diejk, Van Aarnholt and Van Ginkel?
Is that a problem? I know he fell out with the Barca hierarchy, Cruyff, but would that be visited on Koeman? The club already sort of made it clear that the next coach has to be someone who knows/understands the club from the inside, so Koeman ticks that box - but being a Cruyff loyalist means its unlikely he will get the call + he doesn't really have his teams playing the sort of football Barca would prefer to play as you pointed out
Koeman is immensely popular among fans and he's never one to shy away from his affection for the club either, hence why I am certain he covets the job. I just think it'll come at a time when the club is more in transition and needing to get things back in order rather than build on what they are currently doing
The Everton job is perfect for him and with a new stadium and deep pocketed owner he could do something special
Yes, but it was in answer to a particular question."When I was young I liked Liverpool"
