Its not Koemans job mert.

Lukaku cost 28m, we didnt unearth a gem, we signed a 20 year striker with a proven goal scoring record in the league, who Duncan has turned into 1 of the better Strikers in World Football.
The only thing that useless galoot could teach him is how to get pissed and punch people.

I see what you did there. Praising the almost universally liked (except by davek) Duncan instead of the almost universally disliked (except by davek) Martinez for Lukaku's development. I'll take that a step further and note that Rom is currently having his best season ever and has openly praised his work with Ferguson. This is a guy who openly says Premier League strikers like Harry Kane cannot offer him anything but comes out and praises Ferguson with no other agenda behind it.

And dalglish signed Luis Suarez for the rs mate, he also signed some utter turd for them as well and was found out as being useless and out of his depth and then sacked. Uncanny parralels really besides that dalglish still managed to win a pot for them.

Strange how lukaku was all Martinez doing whilst niasse you've stated was forced onto him. Nice ignoring of the fact he tried to get ba originally and Chelsea refused but offered lukaku tho.
Concise version:

"Martinez is rubbish".

By that logic Martinez's 5th place finish was all Moyes.

He paid £28m to give him a permanent home...it was hardly taking in a journeyman.

AND... You can't argue in one thread that we shouldn't be overly reliant on Lukaku and in this one laud Martinez for building a team around him.
I only mentioned about 20 times in that thread that it was a trend started off by Martinez and given a turbo boost by Koeman.

They were rank because they downed tools...a lot of it about last season I hear.

And yes, Lukaku's first manager who believed in him and gave him the confidence to go out and make a name for himself as a consistent top scorer was Martinez.
Dear me, there;s some here who would even deny him that.
Is this the next front to attack Martinez on after downgrading the "rubbish" 21 game winning season...that Lukaku was not a massive feather in his cap?
Bottom line: if Martinez hadn't brought in players like Lukaku and breathed life into Barkley's neglected career this chubby Dutch lad would still be at Southampton honouring his contract.

Mate that's a bit incorrect. The first manager to do that was Jacobs, when he made Lukaku top scorer at the age of 16 in the Belgian Pro League. He has always supported him and still does.

Yes, I should have qualified that by stating that I meant here in the PL.
