Computer games.

@Armel Just got my GTX 1060 and last night I install Pirates and play that all night again.

Haha. It's an awesome game. Putting the new gpu to good use:p.

Hmm now I also want to play it again.

Not gonna lie, I played a little after posting before bed last night. Loaded an old save where I had to fight some Mayor's Daughter's jealous fiancee. Bloody impossible! Sword fights are so hard on high levels, they seem literally untouchable :( :@

Which is why I started over.........relearn the mechanics.

What makes it stand out from the other two? I have heard good things. Never played any of the Mass Effect games.

Finished Horizon just before starting Nier Automata. After finishing Nier I've forgotten all about Horizon. That said, that says more about Nier and how much I adore it.

Horizon is an excellent game. Not innovative but refined and good at everything. It's just a really solid package that is hard to dislike. It looks incredible as well; it might be the most technically impressive game I've ever played. Definitely worth a purchase.

But if you have any interest in jrpgs, action rpgs, philosophical storytelling, existential themes, fourth wall breaking, highly innovative gameplay, or soundtracks that always fit and enhance the moment, then spare a thought for Nier. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but as someone who plays as many games as I do, it's rare to find something that truly wows me anymore. And simply put, even after getting the platinum trophy and doing absolutely everything, I still can't get this game, it's world, its story or its bloody brilliant music out of my head. And nor do I want to. So I feel obliged to recommend it!

I digress however. What kind of games do you enjoy? Be easier to make a solid recommendation then.

I'm no Mass Effect player so can't really comment there.

But I have played Ghost Recon and it's alright. Not amazing but is ok. Not really a proper Clancy game though. But at least they tried to do it different. It's really ok.

Horizon, is something different. For me. Not different for everyone. As @RFUS says it's just very very polished. I don't usually play games like this so for me to like it it has to be very very special and it truly is.

I think that Nier looks very niche to me. As @RFUS says again, that won't be for everyone but I believe Horizon would be.

Looking to get a new game next week.

Options are Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost Recon and Mass Effect. I'm a fan of rpgs and open world games and I'm undecided which out of the three to get.

In the same boat mate, but also have an eye on Sniper Ghost Warrior 3.

Luckily I'm still well and truly hooked on The Division so can bide my time to see how these are received, will be interested to know which way you go, if I was forced to chose right now I'd go Mass Effect based on really enjoying Mass Effect 3.

I love a great epic storyline, huge open world. Nitpicking but I like to have a lot of customization over my character as well. So games like the Elder Scrolls series, Dragon Age, Fallout, a neat game called mount and blade, have been a blast for me. I fall victim to over playing. I sunk so so many hours into Skyrim remastered just to drop it suddenly.

Mass Effect has the same Devs as Dragon Age doesn't it? I'll continue to watch some gameplay videos and make a decision. Gutted there isn't a Red Dead remaster for the new consoles.

Horizon is the answer mate.

Nearly finished the 10 hour preview of the new Mass Effect.

It's actually ok once it starts to open up a bit.

The story hasn't really grabbed me so far, but even 10 hours in, it's still early days.

On a humorous note, the main enemy's are called the "Kett" which makes for some unintentional funny dialogue.

"I came here to hunt some Kett"
