Ross Barkley

I'm not one to stick up for Dave, he deserves all he gets, but I very much doubt he was trying to criticise Barkley as a player.
@davek was critical as I was at the time, about koeman publicly criticising Barkley. In my mind he rates Ross as a player, but not how the manager has handled him. Judging by Ross' performances since the new year, maybe koeman has handled the situation correctly and we were wrong to criticise Koeman's handling of him.

Even when he was poo earlier in the season, he's the only player that always looked to make something happen.

Perhaps one day I'll forgive the non-believers...
It shames me the stick Ross has had off the crowd at times. He never hides and always looks to make things happen as you say, even if he and the team are performing badly. I just hope he sees his future with us playing in front of those so called 'fans' who are so quick to criticise the lad.

I thought Barkley played immense, his close control was perfect all game. Above that he was looking forward and making good decisions throughout. Build up to all the goals, he's there doing the business. If I were to say one thing though, it's that he needs to improve his shooting. We know he has it in him, but he often finds space in shooting positions and his shot is blasted over the bar or straight at the keeper. He had a few chances today, and I would imagine he felt disappointed come the final whistle to have not added to the scoreline himself.

He gives the balls away much less these days and he has become such a good outlet as a result. First player in years where I move forward on my seat a bit every time he gets the ball.

If the club moves forward in the way we expect over the next few years he really could go on to be a great player who leads us to plenty of silverwear.

Imagine the level he'd currently be at if Moyes gave him more of a chance and Martinez actually gave him responsibility on and off the ball.

tbh mate all 3 have probably given him all different things he's needed. I'd say Koeman has worked him the hardest, gave him the most grief, but is pushing him in the direction where he needs to be at. Long may his good for me continue as well. Didn't see the game today but was on here reading comments and every other page was about how well Ross was playing.

Been looking forward to this for a few months

Birfdee Ross lad.

You're proper gash and I hope you're sold in the summer

:coffee:

If we can get decent money for him and have someone who would consistently perform better lined up id sell him !

Get this fraud out of my club

I say sell him. He'll never amount to anything. While we worship him and proclaim him one of the best talents of his generation, the truth is that he's gone backwards in the last 3 years and doesn't have what it takes between the ears.

He's an idiot

Worst player every week

Koeman get rid for the sake of your job

The lad is simply not good enough. Needs to be moved out for a decent fee.

Flogging him to Spurs wouldn't be such a bad idea.

The night we realized he's just another Rodwell

Why? Maybe it's best for him too. It's simply not working for him at Everton, and he's been in the team long enough for it to become evident it never will.

I see him at somewhere like Newcastle or Stoke tbh

If we are supposed to be moving up a gear and attempting to break into the top 4 then he's getting sold

LOL
