I think that was a hugely satisfying win.For Koeman on a personal level he will be delighted to get one over Southampton and he will have been delighted to see his Everton team put the saints back in their place.A lot of Southamptons fans were laughing after the game at St Marys but they aren't laughing now are they?We sent them down all the way back down to the south coast with their backsides firmly reddened.It will be a long journey down to the butt end of England for their fans this evening.lol Good enough for them i say.It's just nice to see Everton put 2016 behind them and start 2017 with a convincing win today.Oh and just when the Koeman out crew were hoping to gain some traction and momentum Everton then go out and win their next game 3-0!Were 9 points off the top 6 but if we string a few wins together then who knows what will happen.For now let's enjoy tonight.
 

Still not entirely sure what he's trying to do on a game by game basis, but fair's fair, things have massively picked up over the past few weeks.

Hopefully January will see some new recruits and a move towards a more specific (and more pleasing on the eye) style of play. Can't knock 7th at the turn of the year, and if we stay in this position I'll be relatively pleased with the seasons work.

Mind you his quote after the match to MOD should have the transfer heads a bit worried.

The reality however has been that no such pragmatism has arrived with him. He hasn't adapted the players he has here and he's forever bleating about buying a new team. The defence is stil hopeless and vulnerable and the standard of football (shockingly because I never expected anything of the sort) is ale house class. He's also rewarded players who last season stabbed us in the back and has pacified them with a lot of game time - possibly in an effort to get them onside. Baines for one should be nowhere near this football club, never mind a first team starting place.

Is it a mistake to have wanted him? Yes. I think this is as good as it's ever going to get with Koeman. Regardless of spending more cash the method is there and won't change and it won't ever elevate us into contenders. I truly wish we'd made Fabien Favre our manager. We may have missed out on a manager that could have transformed us.

Win games?

Just because we aren't doing that ridiculous passing game anymore (which didn't suit us), doesn't mean they aren't trying things on the training ground. How bad our wide attacking players have been this year has really affected how we can hurt the opposition.
