Ronald Koeman discussion

Weird that people are questioning whether we've improved since Martinez. While there's plenty more to do we've looked a lot more solid defensively. Which is why we're 7th not bottom half. This is despite the likes of Jags and Barry in dramatic decline and Martinez filling the squad with crap. Koeman will improve us more when we see more comings and goings. 7th is about as good as we can hope to be at present with this squad.

His signings:-

Check out the bad signings list wow just some really crap players.

Good: Lukaku, Barry (I know he is done now), Holgate.

Average: Robles, Eto'o, Deulofeu, Lennon, McCarthy, Besic, Funes Mori, Galloway.

Bad: McGeady, Kone, Niasse, Cleverley, Tarashaj (?), Alcaraz, Rodriguez, Mattioni.

Were not in a great state that much is true but the league has changed dramtically since the moyes 5th trophy years. With all the money that has been spent, We cant realistically be looking to jump any higher. Chelsea, Tottenham, City, United and that shower have constantly improved under (exceptional) managers with huge budgets. Until we build and build....and build again we are where we are.
As the legend George Harrison once said..
Its going to take time, A whole lot of precious time....its going to take money... a whole farkin shed load of money. Its going to take patience and money to do it right !!!

I'm with George.

Serious question to those who really want Koeman out, who do you want to see replace him with? And what happens if the replacement can't get the best out of this talentless group of wasters we have for a squad? Does he get the sack after six to seven months to? (I know this has been asked before but I've never seen a decent reply).

Is this the new Everton way? We call for a manager to be sacked within months of his arrival because thing's don't all go perfectly straight away? FFS it's like loads of you are just willing us to become the next Sunderland!

The bad signing apart from Niasse were all free transfers and these had to be made because we were skint. Look back at the rubbish Moyes signed or the loyalty they both showed to steady players as well.they had no choice.

Koeman does not seem to be operating unde these same restrictions.

When Martinez was sacked he said he never got the opportunity to do what he wanted. The summer just gone, arm him with 50-60m who would he sign? He could always pull off a coup but could also pay over the odds for garbage. We will never know but he had lost a lot of respect and couldn't carry on anyway.

No they were not some of them caused transfer fees.

Don't try to make out RM worked under difficult restrictions. He had £16/17m net spend per season. For all these bad signings you got to pay them wages for 3/4 years. Now it is difficult to get rid of them and this restricts Koeman's transfer strategy.
