Gerard Deulofeu

Sevilla coach Unai Emery says on-loan Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu doesn't have the maturity to make it at the top level yet.

“He has incredible qualities but lacks others. Put him out there, one on one and ... pfff. But make him play football with teammates, on a big pitch, and it’s hard. He doesn’t have the maturity or capacity for sacrifice yet"

"I told him: 'There are players here who aspire to a contract like yours, men with less talent but more hunger: Iborra, Carriço, Vitolo. They know what it costs. You haven’t experienced that. When you do, you’ll grow. I hope you get that. If not here, somewhere else.'"

Maybe he is still the same and Koeman has the same view as Emery

Then you manage the player. Hes 22.

Koeman's seen him for about 6 months and decided hes not worth his time.

Don't forget this kid was 100% barca golden child. Being pitched out on loan for 2 seasons he was more than likely selfish to show how good he was. His stats at Seville were great - top assists for limited game time.

Personally I think Koeman's view on him is purely down to his strength and defensive side of the game.

So we should retain rubbish young players cos the press tell us we should sell them?

Shall we get Baxter back from Walton nick and George Green back from Boozebusters?
I don't think he is rubbish. He has had some superb games and some anonymous games like most young players. For a period last season he created most of Roms goal. Then like absolutely everyone else in the first team he went off the boil.
I have seen enough to know that there is a potentially great player with skills that no one else at the club has. We got him for £4M and he has a great rep wit the Spain U23? Team. Just think about that for a moment and tell me if he is not worth some more development effort. He will cost £25M to replace and there is still no guarantee. It might be Depay and he is not the finished article, ask any Man U fan.
Besides, most wingers are notoriously fickle.

He plays for Spain U21s, ive said over and over again, it doesnt make any sense, I called Martinez all sorts last season when he dropped him, when Koeman did the same, it made me think that something just isnt right at all, why have 3 different managers, all dropped him after 6months? What prompts 3 different managers, with 3 different styles to all deem him surplus?

Koeman isnt gonna play him, so lets get rid and get somebody in the manager will play, it was a 4m punt and it hasnt worked out, good luck Geri, see you at Las Palmas in 2 years lad.

It seems a policy of Barcas to include buy back clauses in most players they sell from their academy.

Emery at Sevilla and Enrique at Barca had a larger talent pool to select from, also Del was very young, seems they sent him out on loan and he developed considerably. Martinez signed Niasse so that sums that clown up

Just seems to me Koeman doesnt want to help him become what he can be, he is a great impact sub in my opinion he can change a game if he gets the opportunity. I think with game time he will only get better, he is also one of our better players and on the right side of 45 years of age

He wasnt MOTM, stop trying to peddle that lie.

Lukaku scored 2 goals.

He started 2 games in August, hence what the commentator said.
In the first 20 mins he bent in four great crosses no one in the box maybe the two defensive midfielders - he had a very good game was never subbed for a change?
Since then Cleverly bests him to a bench spot do not defend the ginger one!

I also think Koeman was seduced with Moshiris `project` and six mil per annum salary and promise of being backed with 100 million
in transfer cash. So in fairness to Koeman he probably never expected to have to develope and encourage a young talent as he thought he
could just go out and buy it. Have to wait and see on that one I suppose

Most of his go into the solar system - you seen today how bad Watford we're defensively the lad needs game time so play Valencia on the wing hey ho?

Imagine how bad Geri must look to Ronny if hes playing Valencia ahead of him, I mean he was that bad last season that Martinez played Kone and The clev ahead of him.

I reckon he takes selfies in training or something.
