Worth keeping in mind that Pickford has only played 14 premier league games, absolutely could be a flash in the pan/only looks so good playing in a poor team. I'd still take a punt on him but Heaton is far safer.

A keeper who is fielding 20 shots a game doesnt always adjust to going to a team where he is a lot less active, takes a totally different mentality and focus to make that switch, and some keepers that looked brilliant at struggling team flopped massively when they moved to a much better team.

Richard Wright being a very good example of one of those

Reminds me of David Marshall too. Looked good at Cardiff but then he was on his toes all game. That alertness when they've not seen a shot for half an hour separates the wheat from the chaff.

*remembers going mental when Gana was linked.

*backs out.

...absolutely, you might have to get used to it as I think there'll be a few of these type of signings with Walsh. I've just looked him up, Aston Villa Left Back bought for decent money from France. He got a bad ACL injury playing for France U21 and struggled a bit but he's been outstanding since Bruce joined.

I think it's obvious Walsh looks at interception stats etc.

A keeper is pretty much useless if he has 1 diabolical game in 5. Hes made some top saves but some horrendous howlers.

Robles perhaps cant make the very top saves but hes consistent.
You're talking bobbins. Pickford has made a couple of mistakes this season, not saying he won't be decent like but you have no idea. He's played 16 games in the premier league, of which I'm making a generous estimate that you've fully watched 3-4 of. How you can start saying he's a definite England international is beyond me.

Definitely does mate, btw it's something dzagoev is also noted for as well, not much of a tackler but great at reading the game and nicking the ball, another reason the rumour piqued my interest.

100% mate, can say Howard was similar as well, best games tended to be when getting peppered, and a lot of mistakes in games when he face 1 or 2 shots

I've been impressed by Tom Heaton. But as said earlier about Pickford, its some how's easier for a keeper in a poor side with a lot to do tto maintain concentration. I think we'd be better off getting an established, international. We'll most likely have to wait until the summer.
