Ronald Koeman discussion

Maybe we can't progress with this team, maybe it's them who are the problem and were we've been for the last two seasons is their level. Just a thought like. We've looked clueless and aimless for most of last two season's. So we've got two manager's with very different styles of management both failing to get improvement out of the team. What's the common denominator here?

The common denominator would be neither manager appears to be good enough at this point.

Koeman is getting paid a lot of money to get these players motivated. I do think they get some of the blame, but the manager picks them.

If they aren't willing to do what he wants of them, then he shouldn't be picking them. Period, end of.

But hes given them all a chance, hes trying different things and every week a different player lets us down.

This week it was Barry,Stickle, Yala and Rom, last week it was 9 of them, the week before it was 11 of them.

He's clueless mate.

He threw the kitchen sink on there tonight and got a fortuitous break. But the way he's sets up is frightening.

We play dull, knock it long, unproductive "football".

It looks like being a mistake employing him. There is no cohesion about the way he sets this team up and that has to change ASAP.

1 win in 10.......1 WIN IN 10 GAMES

We do need better players no doubt, but these same players could string a few passes together last season now we can't string 3 or 4 passes together. There is zero movement and we have regressed back to percentage football. We must give him time to put together his own side but the early indications are not good.

Haha got laugh before I end up crying .
We've just drew with and definately should have beat one of the most expensively assembled football teams in history , boasting the world record transfer.Managed by one of the most successful managers ever , yet the knives are out for the man who's been managing us for 6 months ?????
Catch a grip you bunch of negative nomarks.
Apart from the usual (& sometimes funny) wind up merchants the rest really need to go "support "some other team cos your really not wanted here.

Long ball merchant. Not having this 'it's not his squad', hasn't improved a single player (unlike Klopp/Conte/Pochettino). No idea what he's trying to do. Can't wait for Barcelona or Arsenal to come in for him.

Well when the club back him like Klopp, Conte, and Pochettino then there is a argument. Klopp spent around £70m in the summer. Conte spent around £120m and Poch spent around £75m. We need a huge makeover, and 1 window certainly wasn't going to fix things, especially when cant attract anything.

I give Everton managers longer than 14 games mate.

I gave the last utter clown 2 and a half years before I turned on him.

Hes got till the end of Season 2, if theres no improvement, I might consider demanding he be sacked.

thats fair enough, and think most fans are aware now finally that the players deserve a good portion of the blame, but what do you make of the hoofy tactics he seems to favour? id love to see stats on how much possession is lost from those long balls.

People need to realise where a mid-table club at the moment, and where sitting 8th. The teams above us par West Brom have spents hundreds upon hundreds of millions assembling there squads. Koeman has to make do with a bang average squad and people need to open there eyes.

The best we can do is 6th this season. We hardly spend a penny (net) in the summer.

It would be a hell of a lot easier to put up with Koeman and this slump we're in if the football was of a decent standard. However, it's not. It's right down there with the muck Smith served up...I'd even say Moyes played better football than this.

It has to change. It's appalling.

It's not about the money he's spent or lack thereof...it's not about the quality of the squad or lack thereof. It's the fact that we don't seem to have any sort of plan whatsoever beyond hoof and hope.

I think it's a fair criticism.

He supposedly had the backing of the board in the summer and built the squad he deemed good enough to improve us.

So that leads me to question the following decisions by Koeman:

- Signing Stekelenberg as first choice keeper. I could potentially understand him coming in as a backup in place of Robles, but first choice, seriously?

- Signing Bolasie, and for at least double what he's worth. Do we not have a scouting system? Literally everybody knows Bolasie is utter turd.

- Not getting in a second striker until the very last minute, and even then rummaging around for unwanted dirge, and on loan.

Baffling to say the least.

No mention of Gana or Williams tho... Hmmm ok mate.
