Ronald Koeman discussion

He's playing the same formation with the same players expecting different results - not going to work.

What does he change it to though? 442? Having a midfield of Gana plus Barry/Barkley is suicide - we don't have the CM's to play this, especially as most of our winger wont track back either.

3 at the back? Played that and got slaughtered. Ok it was Chelsea and they were brilliant but we were all over the shop, nobody knew what they were doing.

I'm curious to know what other systems/players others would choose.

4-3-3.

Bring Barkley into a 3 with Gana & Barry not in front, a flat three. Push both wingers right up & closer to Lukaku.

I don't get why people are discussing Koeman's future. He's going nowhere. We need a big clear out and a bunch of new players eager to impress. The squad isn't as good as it used to be but very little of that is Koeman's fault. The sooner we get to the transfer window the better, hopefully we'll have some deals lined up early on.

The problem is that there are so many of them who are so poor at the minute, most of them will have to keep starting regardless which doesn't help the situation at all. The Jags one, I fully agree as he's making too many mistakes and it looks like nerves are starting to creep in - Koeman recently issued him with a warning but its too little to late, he needs to be dropped.

However, as I have stated, this still wouldn't make any difference in the great scheme of things as its the attitude and general lack of hard work that are killing us at the moment and in my opinion that is down to a core group of players ignoring what Koeman is asking of them.

I find it staggering that a group of players who have won nothing in their careers can down tools as they didnt believe in Martinez and now appear to be totally undermining what Koeman is trying to implement.
I agree that these players need to be "evolved" out of the club. They are bottlers. They're a core of Moyes players who have zero self motivation for anyone outside of Moyes, IMO.

However, enough can be galvanised to put in a performance going forward. Even last season they demonstrated that much. We at least need to see Koeman change his stance and start playing to that strength. He has to acknowledge that while these players aren't going to go out and play like last season's Leicester for him, they can build moves and be effective if played as a primarily attacking unit.

Who the hell, apart from Ross Barkley has come through the youth in the last 10 years and been good enough to cement a place in the first team, who in the last 20 years apart from Barkley and Rooney have been good enough, 2 players in 20 years, you are making stuff up to beat our manager with

Jack Rodwell.
Adam Forshaw.

There is two.

I would argue Shane Duffy probably too.

Why though is the last ten years relevant when Koeman has been here six months?
