I'll finish that post now seeing as I posted the beginning of it by mistake.

Yeah, Charlie Nicholas on SoccerSaturday earlier today stated that he's heard Koeman is an unhappy man at Everton.

Why he's unhappy I don't know. £7m per year to put utter tat performances on the pitch. He should thank his lucky stars there's desperate mugs like Moshiri out there willing to throw top dollar at managers who have mediocre CVs.

If we paid £3m for a manager with a very recent relegation on his CV then £7m is fair for a manager without.

His CV isn't anything too sparkling: 17 years in management and he has a couple of SPL level titles to his name and a. 6th place finish in the PL with Southampton.

It's true he was the best we were realistically associated with in the summer (Mourinho and Emery was just fanciful BS for the fans to lap up). He was my choice over FDB at the time, purely because he had PL experience. But I never thought we should be grateful to have a manager of his limited calibre. And I remember at the time he was first linked most on this forum registered their underwhelmed points of view on him.

Tbh, I'm completely shocked at exactly how poor the football has been. First five games the results were good, so you could hold your nose and accept it. But the results have gone pear shaped and the style of football is now front and centre and it is an ugly sight to behold. For me, Koeman gets his first season as a free pass in terms of pressure on him to win or leave. But this football has to improve tenfold for me to tolerate him as anything more than a short term appointment. Hopefully he proves himself capable of coaching better performances out of players and providing a better brand of football.

You don't have to tolerate him as more than a short term appointment, because that's exactly what he is. He's here three years at the very most.

I agree with a lot of what you say, but when you criticise his CV but laud Martinez, it strikes me as hollow. He is, in theory, the most impressive managerial appointment we've made since Kendall in the 90s. That said, I agree with you that I expected a bit more of a stamp in terms of style of play - even if that is just hit and hope and press, then fine, but I'm not seeing any pressing despite him constantly going on about it.

No. The player manager relationship was broken and couldn't be fixed.

I reiterate: Koeman was my choice before he even became an official candidate for the job. So I was happy we turned to him.

Now he's here, though, I don't like what I see. I think it might be a mistake. His attitude and the way he sets up teams are either much different to the way he acted and performed professionally at Southampton, or I just didn't pay attention enough to him as their manager. Whatever, I don't feel myself warrming to his style of management and, more importantly, I don't like his way of setting up teams to play.

As stated though: there'll be no calls for his resignation from me in the next 12 months. I'll criticise if I think it's right to do so, but I won't join in with any demands he leaves if it comes to that point over the next year...although I hope (and don't think) it will come to that.
