Coleman has scored 2 goals since he's got back which have both won us points.
Davies is still very young to play as a DM, him being ripped apart by Chelsea wouldn't have been a good experience for him. Him coming on with 20 minutes left for experience when the game is already lost and getting praised is a much better scenario.

Saying we should have finished 6th if we got the results we should have got. Would have put us 2 points off 4th if we had done it all

The season would have seen us climbing to there, so no chance of getting 4th, but after the final game we would have settled in 6th or 7th.

We've been awful for the past 6 games (bar West Ham) - not arguing with that.

For a club who have lost 4 out of the last 6 games, with one win in that time, think 7th place is more of a sign of teams being crap below us rather than a good position tbh.
Which is my general point - I've not seen a side that is going to threaten us greatly yet, albeit we need a kick up the arse.
If we carry on our current form, every side below us (and i mean every side) is going to threaten us.
We need to snap out of this malaise very quickly, because with the fixtures we've got coming up there is a very real possibility that we'll be going into January in a worse position than when the last manager got sacked. We're better than that and it shouldn't happen, but make no mistake, it's definitely not out of the question with the way we're playing.

We do, burnley and swansea do represent points lost rather than just results. I would argue we were second best against chelsea city and bournemouth though, sometimes you just are the worse team. Could we have done better vs Bournemouth? Probably, we have just a good a team as them sure, but they pick up points all season based on last year so not going to hang up on that.
We need to win next week. It's an important game for various reasons but we need 3 points.
We definitely shouldn't have dropped the points we have mate.
We were hammered by Chelsea and got lucky (albeit put in a good defensive display) vs City. As you rightly say we just didn't turn up against Bournemouth.

That's about it alright - though I would certainly think that Koeman has not held back in training.
It's not like 30 years ago, players have all the aces these days, you wonder what exactly can be done. Discipline in training was lost under Martinez and we have a group of players used to being praised and cosseted.
The days of a player being intimidated by Ronald Koeman walking in are long gone.
As well as Koeman, it's time now for the senior pros to step up - we have two international captains in the back four, and the squad if anything, is weighted with aged players - it's their responsibility too.
After the derby defeat last year, I recall someone on here suggesting that Bill or one of the other directors should step in and speak to the players, it really was that bad. It should never come to that but the main issue is that we don't have a lot of vocal, mouthy players, older, or younger, in this group. There is not a great deal of leadership.
All I can think of currently is to get Duncan involved more - a bit more British grit would make a good counterbalance to RK and EK, but perhaps this is there already.
