Ex-England and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and MK Dons have been in contact over the vacant manager's role.
It is not clear whether the 36-year-old midfielder, who is set to leave MLS side LA Galaxy in December, will retire from playing should he land the role.
He would replace Karl Robinson at MK Dons, who are 21st in League One.
Gerrard, England's fourth most-capped player, left Anfield in 2015 after 17 years in the first team, playing 710 times and winning eight major trophies.
they believe they are rivals despite being nowhere near their class
they are to us mate.
they think any succesful team is their rival though
what i mean mate is that they are our rivals because we are back to back in the city, both liverpool clubs so therefore want to compete against them whether it is in a season or over 2 games.Playing devils advocate like, but they're not really our rivals by your definition as we're nowhere near them on the pitch. Rivalry can also be historic too, teams can be opposite ends of the spectrum and still be rivals, and still I'm pretty sure they Class us as rivals despite us not being successful.

Villa v brum, Dortmund v schalke, Spurs v arsenal, Newcastle v Sunderland, West Ham v millwall, to name a few, some of them haven't even been in the same division. Some of these rivalries are still red hot despite some of the opposition not being anywhere near on the pitch........ or successful.

Whereas them lot look at the next big team and create a rivalry to shoehorn themselves into it. chelsea, city, spurs, united, all their rivals even when they were nowhere near them league wise.
Which begs the question, what sort of fan base genuinely create new rivalries just to make themselves feel relevant? spreading false lies about chelsea fans urinating on memorials and stuff, simply to fire up a non existant rivalry in the league with chelsea.
Believe me mate. I get loads of kopite fan page stuff shared on my Facebook and they think they have a rivalry with them all.The united rivalry is historic, it's not just them creating it, it's reciprocated. The Chelsea one is obviousy more recent though and probably stems from the ill feeling towards Jose and all 'them' games in Europe. Not sure whether the same ill feeling exists to this day. They were competitors for a short while and hated each other. That works/worked both ways too. I'm sure if you asked RS fans they wouldn't know what you were talking about regarding the 'rivalry' with City and Spurs though, they've been in competition with them once or twice in the League, doesn't make them rivals (in the sense of what we're talking about) though. I only wish we could have rivalry with other clubs other than the RS, and I don't mean the likes of Soton or Stoke who are probably our 'rivals' for a Europa place .That would mean we were more relevant and respected.
