How the hell do these lunatics get selected to give their opinions?

They don't represent this forum, that's for sure.
They usually get the ones who scream the loudest.

Really does get to me.

We all go mad that Everton don't get the coverage we deserve, etc. When this is the attitude by some of our fan base.

We are one of the biggest clubs in the country and could/should have been a lot bigger if it weren't for a disgraceful board of directors who have penny pinched for decades.

He's the diametric opposite of Martinez and the guff that got on everyones' tits: Dutch international superstar player that achieved pretty much everything in the game calls it as he sees it. Shock horror.

I think he's a realist. Take the Everton goggles off and Lukaku could certainly do better. Yes? Yeah, we want him here but tough titty in the game of today if we cannot help him achieve what he is capable of. Same as Stones, same as Rooney. Are we so shocked?

And he's calling out the current team as also-rans, in need of a rebuild and investment, which based on the gutless debacle we've just had the pleasure to witness at Chelsea is spot on (admittedly, his tactics and selection were too negative IMHO). He's upping the ante for January' and next Summer's investment. If he doesn't get the players he wants to achieve what he wants short term, he'll be off. And fair enough.

I say that as a passionate Everton fan that'll still be paying to watch the Blues and encouraging my kids to do the same, Lukaku or no Lukaku, Koeman or no Koeman.

We all know Lukaku could probably do better than us, so no need for Koeman to come out and tell the rest of the footy world.

We're all entitled to our opinion, and it takes a brave man to claim they represent the fan base.

What I found a tad odd was the acceptance to sell, from one group in particular who have slaughtered the club repeatedly over the years for selling key players.

That's a proper head scratcher... Weren't they kicking off in the summer over the Stones sale?!?

You'd think they'd have gotten a plane banner together already them lot.

That "Dave Kelly" they quote in the article.

I wonder if that is the same Dave Kelly whom was speaking in the Church when Football Focus was broadcast live from there the day of the Chelsea cup tie.

Are we voting for #Ronxit?

I'm not saying he should go, but he should employ some common sense when speaking in public about the club. As our manager he is arguably the public face of this club and coming out with comments like he did is hardly helping to raise our profile in the game.

We want to be signing players at Lukaku's level, not telling them that they should go somewhere else because we can't grow or improve.

Yep, I have to agree. I found that odd too. That's not consistent at all.

I thought he was about to state that our board need to start investing in the squad if we want to keep the likes of Lukaku. That would have made sense.

We certainly undersell ourselves and those fans groups comments do nothing to help us change our media perception. Plucky little Everton, eh?

I wish Bobby was still here. Him and Kenwright knew how to give a proper press conference. They would never disrespect the club like this. Never!

lollollol

You're not of course but the beauty of this place is that it has lots of views on lots of things.

I still don't have a problem with what Koeman said. He just didn't need to say it because we all know it anyway.
It isn't what you expect of a £6m employee. I'm under no illusions that he is only here for the dosh, and to further his own reputation, but he really could take a leaf out of Roberto's book when it comes to representing the club. At least he got that side of the role anyway.
