We've laboured against Bournemouth Norwich and Palace so all of this 'not every team will be City' is a bit irrelevant. Points are points against anyone and today was an opportunity at 1-0 up and with 2 penalty saves in the bank and 15 mins on the clock left to frustrate City and win the game. As soon as we were in front though the backsides fell out of Coleman Jagielka Barry and a few others, they just couldn't handle it. As soon as we were back level and plucky little Everton were back to stealing just the one point everyone in the side looked a lot happier and we saw the game out easily. Good teams win that game, regardless of what had gone before. We've ocme away with a point but a different day and we definitely don't.
Look at it this way, we went there with the sole intention of sitting deep with 11 behind the ball, we had two holding mids and a centre midfielder on the wing, we took of nearly every attacking player we had, we saved two pens and pulled off a series of wonder saves, and we still only clung onto a point. How far away does that show us we are from doing what Spurs or even Celtic did and match them properly in a game?
I think its still quite a good sign for Koeman as he's built up a good defensive platform but it just shows that unfortunately he's working with for the large part utter dross with no mental fortitude whatsoever.
