Who mentioned not moving on that bunch? I'd have thought it was a 'given' to most sensible Evertonians? The point being made is if we really want to progress the 'stalwarts' have to be moved on too. SAF did it regularly.
ha ha nice one.Whoever said I was sensible ? Never been guilty of that pal ! Think a couple of experienced, battle hardened players does no harm whatsoever.
What you'd get for those three (max) given age/injury history/performance levels:
Baines: £5M
Jagielka: £6M
Mirallas: £8M
What?? dream on mate - wouldn't get over £10m for the 3 of them Cleverley £10mill ? Joke surely - you clearly dont watch the team do you?McCarthy would fetch in this market place well in excess of the cash we paid for him. I'd say circa £18M. Cleverley is still a young payer with bags if experience at United and Everton. He'd be minimum £10M. Lennon we spent £4.5M on and we'd recoup that.
Total: £32M
Let's be honest. We are at our level 7th-10th and no one has any intentions of anything more.If we want to move to the next level then we will have to start paying next level wages. If we continue to pay midtable wages then we will remain in midtable.
We clearly need to move to the next level, and RK does seem the type to do it.
For me, he needs to make bold statements by moving on good players who are past their best....if we don't then nothing changes. also means we can get a fee for them before they're too long in the tooth.
I'd move out Baines, Jagielka and Mirallas.
Purely on football ability and nothing to do with status anyone agree?
I'd go with this. How about getting rid of actual dross like cleverley Niasse Gibson lennon kone Besic etc and not people who are among the best in England in their position like Baines
