still have all the pre game, the final etc, of the day when it was on bbc,i was that scared of seeing a shot against everton at the time v spurs in the semi final that i had to play footy in the park at the back of our house, and get people to shout me when/if we scored,as i was panicking till it was 3-1,i was doing the same for the final, till i changed my mind and came in after 10mins of the final

I was studying ( getting pissed and loafing about) at Warwick University at the time. Watched it with some Coventry City fans in the boozer.
They were all rooting for the toffee's. One of those rare day's when you just know that you are going to win.

I would have swapped this though, for all the times that the RS have turned us over in finals.

Warwick, my old stomping ground about a decade before you! Handy for the big Cup games at Villa Park!

It's funny how you remember things from that show. Without watching the link from the OP I remember Matt Jackson fluffing a snooker shot, Duncan Ferguson scoring a back flick type goal in training when it was hammering down, SAF and Big Joe's interview, where joe said he wouldn't go home and 'kick the cat' if we lost a game, suggesting he thought that that's what SAF would do. The hotel walk, the coaches arriving.

Great coverage, great day.

Other bits, I'm sure Martin O'Neil was the only pro who said we'd win and that's because he thought everyone else would say the opposite, and Spackman was bitter because we beat Ipswich at Ipswich to ensure our survival and in his opinion didn't deserve it.

21 years ago and I still remember it, God we need a trophy.

That day at Wembley, I was sat near Ratcliffe, Latchford and Dave Jones, all sat together loving the day. Got my cup final ticket signed by all of them and vowed to keep it forever after we had won. Got home hours and hours later in a rather tired and emotional state shall we say, sans ticket. Gutted I was on an otherwise totally brilliant day.

Great day out, slightly ruined by the coppers, filming me and my mates from about 5 minutes after getting off the train , one giant plain clothes pc with a skinhead and tattoos on his neck trying to mingle in, sorry mate this isn't a movie you had no chance, no real bother at all, mixing well with the Mancs having a bit of light hearted banter, both lots just having a laugh, till Wembley way, when we got surrounded by a load of them singing, we are the cock of the north, (funny enough most of them sounded anything but from the north), before they scattering leaving a load of flags behind for my drunken mates to rip up set on fire and two very drunk lads trying p on one .
I was stone cold sober, swear to god I hadn't done a thing, and a scouse copper grabbed me and said if you want to see the game control your mates, I said are you kidding me, nope two minutes to get them together and walking up to the ground with you and me or its the cells for you.
It was like trying to herd cats getting them out of various toilets, shops ect just about got them together as it dawned on them I was going to get nicked.
Thankfully we got the result and all got home safe. seems a lifetime ago. I will be drawing my pension next time we win something at this rate.

Threw my blue nose at paul ince when he walked off, then he clapped us an i felt a pratt
Yes and Nicky Butt was clapping the Everton end when he walked round with the United team, Everton Fans singing " Always look on the bright side of life " to the United fans, and what about the look on the two princes kippers, William and Harry, looked like it was the end of the world to them.

It really depresses me when I read about people sharing their memories of great days like this and the ones from the 80s, I'm only 22 and haven't ever experienced this yet (and genuinely fearful that I never will). I've been to Wembley 3 times but we've lost on every occasion so all the BIG games I have memories of have been of us losing so they're tainted.

I want us to win a trophy so badly so the memory can stick with me forever and I want us to do it soon, not when I'm in my 40s or 50s. I want tell my kids about the day when I was a young lad down at Wembley and rat-arsed with my mates and how my nerves were shot to bits as we hung on to win the cup.

The highlights of my time supporting Everton are the European experiences and a few memorable wins at Goodison but they don't compare to the ecstasy of us winning a trophy. I pray that I get to experience it soon.

Was desperate for a ticket for this but really struggling badly. Frankly I had given up all hope.
Was working late shift the day before the game and called in my local after work. One of the regulars (a bloke I didn't know particularly well, and a koppite as it happens) stood in front of me with a huge grin on his face. Frankly he was getting on my nerves as he wouldn't tell me why he looked so smug.
I was on the verge of giving him a crack as I thought he was taking the p... at the fact I didn't have a ticket.
After about 15 minutes of me moodily growling at him to wipe the grin off his face, he reached into his pocket and handed me an envelope.
Not one but TWO tickets !
Now I'm as straight as they come, but I would have happily slipped him one there and then in the packed pub. In fact, I think he spent the rest of the night trying to stop me kissing him.
To cut a long story short, I rolled home about 2AM and woke my (10 year old) son up, waving the tickets and singing. (Also woke the rest of the house; The wife wasn't happy)
We even managed to book coach tickets. Me and my lad absolutely knackered but deliriously happy, both slept most of the way home despite the fact the coach was 'bouncing'
I have moved house (twice) since then, but still bump into the bloke two or three times a year. He used to be a salesman and had won the tickets for most sales that month. Still love the bloke and always make sure to buy his ale.

Boss that mate ;)

Stop going to Wembley mate and we will probably win a pot or 3 ;)

My best memory was that 95 cup run. Like others have said I knew our name was on it that year. I had just turned 18 so I was able to fully experience every game with my mates and then off to the pubs after.

So many memories. I remember pulling a girl on the bus home from the 5-0 Norwich win (days don't get much better than that) :) The Quater final was ace and the semi one of my top moments as a fan. Joe Parkinson was awesome that day.

For the young fans I hope they get that moment soon.
