Ross Barkley

England international with 22 caps at 23 years of age and a record that stands up against the best in the game at what he does past and present? I wouldn't start talking with any suitor that failed to open with £50M.
I like him myself, if we were to sell him which I hope we don't no one on current form and last season is going anywhere near 50m mate.

I believe we were ripped off over Stones' fee. That was well under what City would have been prepared to pay, imo. They knew though that we were desperate to start our summer spending and that we needed to get a transfer window pot together. Barkley is a young ENGLISH international with an attacking game and that is a commodity at a premium.

Sterling: £49M two summers ago. Today with the crazy inflation he'd have fetched for Liverpool about £65M.

A season like last season's where he scored 8 and made another 8 will put him up in the £50M bracket.

If we sold him for anything like £40M that's another pasting we take on top of the Stones rip off.

Eh ? What planet are you on lad ?
Barry had a decent game against Palace, rarely gave the ball away and wasn't subbed, but, apart from that, you're spot on.

He was subbed against Bournemouth because he was playing with an injury, which is probably what you were thinking of, but, if it is, your memory's shocking and you shouldn't really be trying to make reasoned arguments on the internet :)

Ross Barkley though. Way too much talked about him, he's been OK this season, made a few mistakes here and there, done a few good things on the ball, is putting some decent dead balls in and has added a bit of defensive duties to his game.
I thought he was subbed against Palace. If not he should have been since he was poor and his stats and poor pass % shows that.

Stones was a fair price. Defenders generally don't fetch as much as attacking players.

I like mate but his game at the minute isn't saying he's a 50m player.

You have spent the last 2 years saying the lad couldnt defend and he was rubbish, now all of a sudden we got ripped off?

Ok Dave.
Point of order: I've spent the last two years saying he's no top class defender but that he is (or is capable of being) a top defensive midfielder in the Carrick mould.

£38M Everton got for him after the Barnsley cash was deducted. An absolute piss take. I think I said at the time I thought it was worth it to get the cryng arse get out of the club, but that the price was under-cooked.

We sold him for 47.5m, the 2nd highest fee for a defender in world football and the 22nd highest fee for a player.

Not bad for a player who didnt wish to remain in my eyes.

Hes a top class CB, he will never ever play in midfield.

Two words: David Luiz.

If some divvy was prepared to pay £50m for that then Stones went cheaply.
