Ha! Well since I am an American, anything I say on here soccer jargon related I am not accountable for.

It's not the soccer jargon that gets you, it's the scouse stuff. And you can't necessarily trust the internet for definitions. When I first looked up "koppite" the definition I found said something like "usually means Norwegian, but can refer to any Scandinavian". So my first month or so reading this board I kept thinking, "Why do they hate Scandinavians so much? Is it because of the Viking invasions? That stuff was a really long time ago!"

You'd have to be a lid beaked up on lemo or a "lo lly ice" eating arl arse to make that kind of mistake.

Goes back to a battle in South Africa. The creators of Anfield named one end Spion Kop in honour of the battle hence the nickname for the fans of our neighbour.

Apparently after the game Moyes said:

"I thought he played well today. I can't really talk about what else might happen"

I cant find the comments but if he said this, then it suggests that a deal is still on.
Of course it's still on - after all, DM thinks players should always be allowed to move on, should a bigger club want them. Doesn't he? :coffee:

Yeah but you can kind o understand it after watching the games and when we play at Antfield. Remember this

That thunderstrike was scored at the Kop end. Here is a good link to what Kop means https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spion_Kop_(stadiums)

True Gueye has been excellent so far, let's see if he can keep up this form or thereabouts for the rest of the season.
Cahill and Coleman were flukes/master strokes for Moyes at those prices. I doubt he'll be so lucky in the transfer window again IMO.

Routinely I feel compelled to justify some of the ignorant remarks made about Moyes record ( our most consistently successful period recently that re built or reputation in dire financial circumstances ).

I'm not justifying all his remarks, but his transfer record is mind blowing. Do you know who signed Stones, Lescott ( and replaced him 16m for the better with Distain? ). baines, Pienaar, jags, arteta, unsworth, yak, yobo, naismith ( free, sold £8m ). All bargains.

Transfer wise, Everton will never be that ' lucky ' again. A higher % of British players, cup final and European football. Moyes may struggle at Sunderland, they don't present the lure of Everton but his dealings were by and large spotless.
