The more I think about it, the more it just makes sense they got another deal done for a forward. Even if you think the Gabbiadini deal probably isnt going through and are frustrated, it doesnt make sense to cut it out while looking for another forward, UNTIL you actually ink that deal. Because in reality if Napoli comes to you and says "we found a player" you can say "too late now, we moved on".

The only exception to this is if they really want Gabbiadini, they may do this to light a fire under Napoli.

As of yesterday we were looking at 2 alternatives in Italy, not heard anything since.

if we haven't signed him then it is a failed transfer either way. Beat realistically it is two strikers in a week we have not got despite being interested in. Now with only a day to go, the only names that come to mind are....

Guys it is sad but it will be difficult to purchase any elite players for Everton this summer. A couple of clever signings and a European place and next summer go at it again. You have a good manager and you will improve.

Whilst I admire your optimism all of the time Toff, we have by definition 'failed' to bring in a striker.
That can't be denied.
