There's only so much Everton can do, though. I think we're already a pretty tight ship in that regard.

The agent is always going to be the weak spot, it's in their interest to get the word out as a means of alerting clubs that might make a more lucrative offer.

I agree but I don't see how that's possible given the amount of parties involved in a transfer who are privvy to any sort of detail at all. If there was a leak in the club that would be a different matter and subject to disciplinary procedures I would assume.

It's in players interests to make known any approach.

Apart from a few soundbites from Koeman and Moshiris comments, the club have said absolutely nothing of note about transfers, and nor should they.

I meant to put that, you're spot on, the problem is the agent and sometimes they want it in the public domain to attract other bids.

Everton are a lot tighter for info than they were three years ago.
