It hurts my brain that people think Stek is better than Hart on the back of one good performance.

I was pleasantly surprised by Stekkos performance against Spurs because he was absolutely terrible in the games I watched him for Southampton almost comical. Hope he keeps up the good form but I would have Hart ahead of him without doubt.

Exactly this and his performance against Liverpool in the league cup angered me to the point I even claimed he was worse than Howard

That's why he got dropped twice then!
Look if we had fulfilled all our outplayer needs the if affordable yes let's try him on loan he will not come cheap even on loan!

City fans watch him every week, while I don't so I think they are a better judge of his performances. Just like when people who didn't watch Tim Howard the last few seasons thought he was a quality keeper. I agree that a loan would be best, seems ideal for both parties. If he doesn't perform then we don't have to spend big money on him and we have a good back up keeper in Stek to come in.

While he gets 120 K wages brilliant deduction!
Let's get the players we need in front of the keeper first !

But seeing as terms such as "heavy spend" "heavy investment" and "spending spree" are open to interpretation and dont have a real meaning
(if you think that being a top 4 spender isnt that), then your point is completely.....pointless.
To me a spending spree or heavy investment would, for example, mean buying our supposed current targets. Koné, Rachid, Hart + Sissoko giving a net spend of around 90m, close to the originally mooted budget of 100m.

So to you, a heavy investment is only if we spend enough to be the third most spendy club in the WORLD this summer(which would be#2 last summer)? Short of that, spending 55m, and being only the 4th most spendy club in the world is just not good enough?

If thats the case, I just dont think you have a solid grasp on what a spending spree or heavy investment is.

major game of chicken between Hart and 'City here I reckon. No way City want him going out on loan and then coming back with just months left on his contract. they will therefore be saying, either go now so we can get a fee, or you can rot in the reservies for a couple of years.

Howard in the PFA team of the season?

Erm, why did they loan him to us first then mate, having brought in a 34-year-old Van der Saar as his replacement?

There's a bit of a difference.

I don't think there is. City won one trophy last year, the league cup which Willy Cabellero played in goal for. They are trying to buy Barca's keeper and oddly enough, looks like Hart will go out on loan now if the stories are true.
