Reading some of the comments from Valencia fans they seem suprised and happy someone would pay that much. I havent seen him play but know he was highly rated a couple of years ago. Anyone have an opinion?

From what I have seen he is just a solid centre half, not fancy but just gives the opinion of a tough no nonsense defender. I struggle to really take Valencia seriously these days as they sell their best players every year under financial strain including the funds for a new stadium.

My guess is that he has family involved with the club. He's Irish, but yeah, been pretty spot on.

Yeh seen him a few times across most of his clubs. Was okay at Monaco but that league is pretty risky to judge on. I mean he's not terrible like but... we must be really running out of targets if we go for him.
