Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

....my understanding of a transfer request is that it results in the player losing his 10% cut of the transfer fee. £1.8m is a lot to give up but is more of an attractive proposition to Sunderland. Kone could still be forcing an improved contract.

Considering we will probably minimum be doubling his wage I don't reckon he'll be that bothered on missing the 10% cut.

He's a good player but just think the Chelsea link has been put out there to the media probably by his agent. He'll be a Everton player in the coming days

Feel betrayed by him fans on our forum are split some blaming the club while the rest of us can smell a rat a mile off
Modern football eh. Like many on here, I have a lot of time for Sunderland. Proper club with great pedigree etc. Think Moyes will get you back to competing in top half and then who knows? Best of luck with the season.

....but when it's one of our players doing this there is uproar.
I don't like players handing in transfer requests and such but it's difficult to argue against his reason why. He was promised a new contract numerous times and then when Moyes came in he wasn't offered one anymore. I wouldn't stand for that in my job either tbh

After all these meetings "no contract has been forthcoming". So what were they doing at these meetings? They're splitting hairs between being literally offered a contract and being offered terms for a contract. I think it just means "Sunderland haven't offered enough money".

Which is fine with me! Hopefully we're bullying them by offering wages they can't match.

It's happened to us enough times, nice to see us being the bully for a change. Shame it has to be against a decent club like Sunderland but then again it's also against David "I wouldn't stand in their way" Moyes so mixed feelings really.

Kone and Williams will make us much better defensively than we've been for years.

Seems like the majority of players these days are slimy two faced mercenaries, massively overpaid and utterly dishonourable. Yet I still want us to sign him which makes me complicit as well. It does, though, make me less forgiving and more audibly disgruntled when they fail or hit poor form. Personally I hope Sunderland refuse and bang him in the reserves.

he was promised a new contract which hasn't been forthcoming.

I'm not saying I feel sorry for him, like

Yup and if lukaku does it I will fume lol lol lol it's ok when we do it to others but when it happens to us noooooo! lol

Modern footballers are a right shower, plays less than 20 times for Sunderland then wants his wages doubled and puts in a request, if I was a Sunderland fan I wouldn't be to happy with him.
Good player , saying that so from are side if things, might work out well.

he was promised a new deal by the club. it has been widely reported

edit: this could all also be a bit of a rouse to just make sure he gets his move
