Blue Union Board Angst

We have, but not to fund transfer fees - to support an increase in the wage bill.

We all know that is a possible reason why we have done this. Perceptions though, a lot will see this as the same Everton who had to sell top players to sign anyone of high value

The fact is until September 2nd arrives, none of us know, all I'm saying is this is an absolute disaster of a pre season and I genuinely feel for Koeman. If they is anything wrong at the club with regards to promises broken (this has happened in the past) don't be surprised if he walks away.

I'm half expecting it but I am an Exeter drama queen

No possible about it, it is the reason why we have done it. We want the big players, we need to pay the big wages. To pay the big wages we need to increase revenue. The only way we can increase revenue at this time is profit from player sales. Stones and Lukaku are the most valuable assets we have so one had to go. Stones it seems was one who wanted out the most (and also the one who would generate the most profit).

You can all rip the crap out of me but I've always thought we were in steady hands with Kenwright, I remember th

Totally disagree with this though. Steady isn't the word, haphazardly avoiding financial meltdown is more to my taking on it all.

I believe Morshiri has a plan and that for me would have been good enough at any point, instead of "living day by day" as we did.

I am just really annoyed the club has missmanaged the PR on all this, to a degree where people are now going to boot off when we don't spend £100+ million net.

Missing my point here mate. Let's wait and see in 3 weeks and see what type
Of players we have signed and whether or not the sale of John Stones was even necessary

Don't believe in protests but the way I see it is the last 10 games of last season we were far and away the worst team in the league. Christ knows what would of happened if our slump had occurred a month previous. We don't look any better now in pre season admittedly but the whole body language of the players and now the manager doesn't look good in my opinion. We can ill afford a bad start to the season.

If the board knew that Stones was definitely going then they should have sold sooner and given the manager at least a chance to bring in fresh faces. I'm not convinced by Moshiri one bit at this moment in time and don't think we have a hope in hell of attracting the kind of players that have been touted on here.

I think the board wanted to see what RK wanted. Then get rid of who he doesn't want or doesn't want to be here. Good money for Stones but people still moan were not spending, does it matter at the end of the window if we bring in players RK wants. By the way like the Williams signing

Not sure why that came up tbh, but the full remark about Kenwright was comparing him to that shitehouse Peter Johnson

This is nothing short of EMBARRASSING. I'm normally in favour of the Blue Union but this is just utterly and absolutely embarrassing. They're bending their knees here to the utter mentalist lunatics moaning how we haven't won the quintuple with Messi and co. overnight.

We get at minimum roughly a £140m kitty to spend - which right now seems like we actually do, £100m from Moshiri's initial investment and £47m from the Stones sale. We've confirmed to have spent £16m on players so far, with £25m and £18m deals for Bolasie and Kone almost completed which takes us to £59m. We also want to complete a £30m deal for Mata - £89m - with a final bid for another forward, Slimani etc. of I'd imagine around £25m as well. In total our final 4 transfer dealings - fitting right into what Mr Koeman has mentioned in regards to our dealings - means we spend £114m. And that's on transfers alone. Could you even fathom us purchasing that many players and spending that much money in a single window during the Kenwright era, never mind ones who have had success in this league?

We have spent around £30m sacking Martinez bringing in a successful, Premier League-proven manager widely rated as one of the best in Europe, as well as all of his coaching staff. Don't forget highly-regarded Director of Football Steve Walsh who has scouted players who have proved to be crucial parts in trophy wins and who have became club legends - Drogba, Essien, Mahrez, Kante etc.

"Sell to buy". That's exactly it - the club doesn't have an unlimited wage bill, it isn't like FIFA Career Mode where you can spend as much as you want and pay wages as high as you want completely ignoring STCC and FFP regulations. Why is everyone getting so pissy that we have sold Stones anyway? The lad was a liability defensively. Mistake after mistake, constantly getting outjumped, outmuscled, what have you. He was NEVER one of our best players. But of course since he can do a few fancy skills and Cruyff turns, which I can do as well, the English media calls him the next Bobby Moore. To hell with defending, if he can do a couple of tricks he's going to be the best defender the world has ever seen.

That's just what we have done this summer. As we speak plans are being drawn up for a brand new state-of-the-art stadium for us to play in - not just paper talk either, Joe Anderson himself has said it. Not just any stadium either, a modern stadium on the famous Liverpool waterfront, on the banks of the royal blue Mersey. This project alone would cost several hundreds of millions of pounds and will take realistically 3-4 years to complete. These sorts of things are not going to be done and dusted in a week.

Compare that to the Kenwright era where 3, THREE, stadiums were proposed, all of which failed to come to fruition due to lack of investment or reluctance to invest. The difference with this proposal is that there are actually signs of progress - there is a willingness to spend money, willingness to co-operate with the city council and co, and plans actually on the table. We finally have the investment we've needed for decades right now, and it's starting to show. Yet not a single word has been spoken.

A vast majority of our fans really make my blood boil, they really do.

Just this forum? Check the thread on TEF. Or NSNO. Site owner on here has said before that he feels GOT is indicative of the mood.

Are you honestly using last season to back up your case? As soon as Lukaku down tools we were goosed. Rumours are he's seen his bum already this summer.

We're all calm - what are we going to do about it? - but this £100m, buy anyone malarkey that was going round in June has been proven to be palpably false. If Stones was so inevitably going, why not invest the potential money earlier if liquidity isn't an issue?

But then he gets sold and we make three bids. Right.

I think the fact we were linked with Mata, Koubaily, Hart, Witsel etc at the start of the summer

End up with Williams and Steklenberg..

Says everything you need to know. Something somewhere has changed or isn't right.. That's the feeling I get

It's a great post mate and if I'm one of those fans that makes your blood boil I apologise. Also I don't play FIFA!
Just one question? Are you happy with the pre season bearing in mind we have Spurs tomorrow?

Witsel ummed and ahhhed and decided to stay at Zenit as he wants to go to Italy.

Koulibaly apparently preferred a move to Chelsea - but that didn't happen either.

As for Mata and Hart, only time will tell.

So what does that tell you that I seem to be missing? If players don't want to come to Everton, we can't force them. We made bids, they decided otherwise.
