Any archery experts on here?

Why is there a separate men and womens event. Surely the physical differences of the sexes has no relevance to whether you can shoot straight?

Come to think of it why on earth are men and women's crown green bowls separate? Surely women can be just as good as men at this sport? They have mixed gender chef competitions after all.

Could say the same for the shooting events as well. I wonder if the bows are of different weight/specs. I'd imagine that the bows and rifles have gotten lighter over the years, so perhaps what was once unreasonable is now more feasible.
I've wondered why the archery seems to be in sets of 8.Why not an odd number?

In no way an expert, but I have done it, archery that is, and the weight and strength of the bloke kit I had was like hanging off a bar with one hand with someone pulling on your ankle.
