I'm definitely not saying that, Aaron.

All we've heard since the end of the season is how things will change, we are snapping up top players etc, since when has Steve Walsh been dining at that table?
steve wash's team has just won the premier league. Why are you obsessed with tables and 'dining at the top'

leighton baines is one of the best players we've had in recent years, and he came from wigan.

Infact some of our best players from the 80s didnt come from top clubs at all, but it made us work.

It's about assembling the right team of staff, players, recruitment staff and managers to build something OVER TIME, not instantly, i don't see why you can't get that to be honest.

the managers been in a job for about 3 weeks. He's probably does know what he wants player wise, and has identified, walsh coming in will help that but he still has to judge players at the club too, why is that a issue? we aren't missing out on any 'top targets' and there are weeks to go until the season starts to begin with.

As for Walsh it's clear the leicester fans like him for a reason, he is well respected by a lot of people in the game and overall it's a smart move with a safe pair of hands for someone who can identify the right sort of players for the premier league, sure he probably isn't perfect but neither is monchi, and mark overmars certainly is not.

But it provides us a good structure to build upon so we can be (hopefully) HOSTING the 'top table' thing you're desperate for us to have.

Well United have bought Zlatan and Mkirhtayan (spelling) Arsenal have bought Xhaka, Chelsea have bought Kante and Batuyashi (sp) not sure about the other two but Jesus Christ the idea that people aren't spending money is daft, it's bordering on record levels for this time of year.

Spurs have bought Wanyama, That Dutch striker and about to sign a winger from Marseilles.

The Leicester fans like him because they've just won the league.

If we wanted him why didn't we get him in before the manager, the point of a DOF is to ensure stability at a club regardless of manager.

Seems like flavour of the month to me.

But I'm baffling as to what you're expecting.. We are going for a higher standard of player now by all accounts which makes it harder to get deals done because I'm sure those players have lots of other good offers else where.. I'm sure we could go out and sign 100 Niasse's if we wanted too..

Leicester fans love him, SAF has him down as the most influential person in the premier league, but because he's not called Stevio Walshio then people assume he's crap and are outraged.

I for one believe this will be a signing we look back on in 2 years as one of the most important of the lot.

thats right mate. But he isn't having a balanced argument is he.

He's literally saying FFS ITS NOT OVAMARZ OR MONCHI, and then stating.. well.. nothing to back up why it's a bad thing other than the guys from leicester.

He is though. We don't know much about this guy except he helped them win the league a bit last season. That's great. But not worth going OTT about.

Medium term I hope this works for us, but for this window it will not affect it.

Seriously, do you think first day on the job he is going to pick up the phone and sort the Mata transfer?? Is he like a senior aged Ray Donovan, and sorts stuff by mischievous ways.

Since Leicester won the league.
He was the main scout and assistant manager of the club that created one of the greatest stories in modern football. I don't like to get carried away but usually I gauge the quality by looking at the opposition fans and the Leicester fans are not happy.
If you look at league form for the second half of last season, Leicester 1st. Southampton 2nd. We've built our managerial team from the best two teams on the field in 2016.
I'm impressed.
