So why aren't Man City doing that instead? They're not mugs.

Easy to replace others have said. That'll be why Man City are buying him. There's heaps of John Stones out there, right? ...

I don't begrudge him leaving, if Everton fans don't understand we're a stepping stone club by now (along with 99% of other clubs out there) then they never will.
All about opinions - look at Leicester no stones potential there but just won the league based on no nonsense defending.

I dunno....ask them

And what I stated is correct £50m will buy two top class cb's

Second seasin on the bounce. See ya John boy....thanks for your loyalty. Just think how nany kids you going to upset as its cost us parents 60 quid for their kit with STONES on it .......Nice One.

If Big Sam gets the England job, it will be interesting if Stones is on England duty. The last thing Sam will want to see is his centre half farting around doing tricks instead of hoofing the ball towards Kane.

Should have took the money last season, the best young english defender who can't defend,if he goes so be it,not arsed either way, easily replaced

They're buying him "because they can" - just like they always do. They spunked £50M up the wall on Sterling - that worked out well. If they're willing to splurge £50M on Stones then take it. You're talking like he's the best defender in the world - he couldn't even get in a rubbish England team.

If he's easily replaced and we should have taken the money, why are big teams trying to spend big money on him?

Quite some difference between where the two clubs are currently at compared to then as well as the player involved.

Rodwell joined Manchester City who were the league champions and spending fortunes on the best players in the world. He joined them as he was hyped up as the next big thing. He ended up being crap. So there's a lot of similarities with the Stones situation, to be honest.

Shame this, he's gonna be great if he lives up to his potential. We've not had to sell a big player for a while now though, so we were probably due one. Sadly, in the modern game there's what, maybe six clubs in world football that'll never really be put in a position to sell when they don't really want to? Not many, anyway. It is what it is. We move on.
