Sadly passed away. Aged only 52, contributed humongously towards British comedy and I was and still am a massive fan of The Royle Family.

Gone way way too early.

Never could take to the Royle family. Mind-numbingly crass, it was just half an hour of: 'Alright, our mam'

'Alright, our Deneez'

'Alright, our dad' etc, etc.

Mrs Merton was alright, though, and she was good in The Fast Show, too. Especially the checkout girl lol

Only 52 though, no age, that.
