Keeper necessity

Just because Butland wants to play at the top level will it be cheap to buy him. Look at how we are handling Stones and Lukaku.
Rico has one season of being first choice.
You're right with Leno but it's not a given that he'd go for it
Lastly who really gives a damn about Mandanda's distribution. He's there to keep it out of the net and he's proven over a long career to be fairly adept at it

Rico has been 1st choice for 2 seasons and i think hes shown that hes close to world class at just 22 years old

Butland, not sure what you means by your comment regarding stones or lukaku. For a team supposedly going places and with fellow england internationals so he gets more exposure and also doesnt need to move house i think its a good deal.

Mandanda, i think you will agree that hes not lloris level as a keeper and at 31 not likely to improve. Signing him would give us at best a mid table keeper in what is a crucial position. If he wasnt free i doubt we would look at him. Our competition is Palace which i think shows hes not targetted by top clubs.

The keeper position is the cheapest area on the pitch to upgrade. Koeman bought forster at aouthampton so im hoping he spends big again on quality for us.

I think we need to aim for the best, though these keepera are out of reach so we should go for the "potentially best". Meaning keepers who look outstanding now and can improve to the very top level. It then comes down to money, Rico and Leno would likely be £20mil or less whereas Butland may be as much as £30mil.

All are statements and would impress the fans, squad and increase our exposure. They would of course be huge upgrades on the pitch and for the cost to benefit ratio we should be going all out.

Best spend big on a keeper, as we go desperately need it. Throw 15m at one of those German keepers. No doubt the RS poached the best-of-the-rest among the German goalkeepers by signing the fella they did a few weeks ago, while we ummed and arred regarding a new manager and will now need to wait until after the Euros for him to even have a look at the squad, never mind decide which positions he needs to strengthen in. Typical Everton.

Timo Horn, Anthony Lopes, Ederson all decent.

I don't really care for any speculation at the minute until something concrete comes out. Wouldn't mind Mandanda there's no way we can say for sure whether he'd be a flop or not since he's never played in this league (like every other GK people shout for). He's obviously good and his erratic behaviour won't be tolerated so that won't appear. Can he speak English though to communicate with the defends is one of the most important things people seem to be ignoring.

Lopes came behind Mandanda for keeper of the year last season so a bit concerning. Ederson ive not seen really bar couple of highlights i think but dont think hes been in the Brazil side yet (unless in this copa?).

Thats the word ive been looking for,for Mandanda, Erratic. Seems like Grobelaar to me. Id prefer a keeper who when the opposition attacks we just sit back and relax...

Karius is a very good keeper and still young. Absolute bargain for £5mil and will be quality for them.

However i made the comment when he signed that he would be more our type of signing pre-Moshiri. There are a few top Germans and hes the bargain signing BUT not on the same level as Bernd Leno.

I would also say that Karius has played for Mainz who are a small club of course and you never know how he will adapt to a big club in a big league.

If we signed Leno it would be as if roles were reversed with us spending money and them in the bargain basement.

Rico, Butland and Cillessen for me! All reasonably young for keepers, years ahead of them. I'd like to stay clear of Mandanda if I'm honest.

Looking through all the rumours, Twitter, paper jarg and the GOT ITK team who know as much as the Echo, I believe we will get Mandanda, Krul and the crap one from Fulham. Joel I don't believe is good enough, and I don't believe we will be able to get the likes of Butland until we show ambition and intent by a strong transfer window plus a good start in the league and hopefully Rom and Stones staying.

It's all on the first marque signing, the situation might be different if the first cab off the rank is Mata and then Sneiderlain (spelling).

I have also heard that Ron is away again anyway until Monday
