well the guy who works security for the salon at the corner of my building was hopeful the good ol' EEUU (El Estadios Unidos UknowihavenoideawhatthesecondUstandsfor) 3-0 win. Even after I sounded like a 6yo that had been kicked in the head by a mule trying to explain in my horrible Spanish that we were missing three starters.

so we've got that going for us.

and nice to see some folks here rooting for the US, if for not other reason than it makes the crazy gringo who lives in the barrio happy.

Some plural terms have initials with repeated letters

United States = Estados Unidos = EEUU
Human Resources = Recursos Humanos = RRHH

You want a piece of Clint? You'll get a large portion you bunch of Italians speaking poor Spanish.

Yeah, asked one of my Paraguayo friends after posting and he set me straight.

if you linger around this thread tonight, be prepared. have no problems with Argentina. been to Buenos Aires a couple times (and wouldn't mind going again to catch River Plate), Mendoza, and spent five weeks bouncing around Patagonia.

Love the country.

Love the people.

Dig Funes Mori, enjoy Messi.

...

... but not at all a fan of DiveMaria or even tendencies of other players to engage in dodgy behavior a team that skilled and strong shouldn't have to.

So pardon any outbursts! They'll be Budweiser-fueled* heat of the moment keyboard mashing.

(*I drank Bud for the UUSSAAMNTNNTTNT vs Paraguay - opted for the only Yank beer I could find instead of Pilsen or another PY cerveza. Worked. Worked again vs. WWEcuador, so will be doing again tonight.)

So isn't this like the US teams biggest match ever ? is it getting a lot of hype in the mainstream media over there ?
