Correct to a degree as Wilmots shouldn't persevere with a striker which doesn't suit the players around him. If you insist on playing Rom you must play to his strengths as otherwise a pointless exercise.

As soon as we changed that, with a more traditional defensive winger in Lennon, and Cleverley shuttling on the left side, his goal tally dropped off. For a big man he does not challenge very well in a static formation with slow build up - exactly what Belgium are doing.

If they're going to play like that then he shouldn't be on. If they want to play him then it's best as part of a counterattacking plan, which you won't really get against ROI
