I know next to nothing about Seville or their tactics. I know less about how he likes to deploy his strikers and what style of striker he likes to play. same goes for his defenders.

So with this in mind, can you answer me this...... With the players he has historically focused on in terms of purchases or development, would you consider either Stones and/or Lukaku to be holders of the particular traits he admires?

Lukaku's probably not defending enough per Sevilla standards for strikers. Stones is unknown as I do not believe we've seen even a scratch of what he's really capable of under Martinez. I'm trending towards Stones being workable for Emery and Lukaku not. Niasse, ironically how bad he is at the moment, might work better for Emery.

Nope

We could try one of those German GKs. Isn't Horn available for around 10m? Whatever's good, cheap and speaks English I guess.

Pulisic is pretty good for a 17 yo. Even breaking into BVB first team. I would say get him, even if it is just for marketing in USA, unless BVB is trying to get a lot of money for him. A lot of these German Americans are pretty good and looking forward to the up and comers.

Assuming we buy Milik, call back Tarashaj, we should be good with a youth product as a 3rd striker. Gives us more leeway in negotiating too.

That RB backup worries me though. We really don't have anyone there and should get someone good but at the backup level for now.
Not worried about the right back backup in the slightest, Jonjoe Kenny is more than capable of deputising for Coleman.

Yep. Adebayor, Kaboul, Capoue and to a lesser extent Lennon basically were pissing about after we had lost a game and being unprofessional. Kane and others called them on it and they tried to pull the old 'seniority' trick.

Poch sided with the younger players and got rid.

Think Lennon did try and back track but it was too little too late.
And this is true because..????

Come on emery is highly rated, but he will have to be some kind of miracle worker to make niasse into a footballer.

He is THE miracle worker LOL ;)

Jokes aside, Niasse is salvageable, not someone we want long term maybe, but his workrate might count for something under a better coach with a better understanding of the game.

Player performance often reflect the manager's quality.
Headless chicken manager = headless chicken players.

Other than Lukaku, who else wants away? I've not heard any whispers of others.

R-E-L-A-X

Transfer window doesn't start till July so we have a whole month to prepare his replacement if we do sell.

Also, those kids coming through are exciting!

Other clubs are already preparing to sign players, the other lot have a keeper ready to sign to today. Stones will leave or is that my imagination especially as United are changing manager, Lukaku will go no matter what, in my opinion he'll join up with Stones at United. We have a list of players as long as your arm well past their sell buy dates and will have to be replaced along with any that the new guy himself doesn't want. At the beginning of July the players will be returning for preseason hence every bit of time availability is necessary for the new manager to make his plans and assess his requirements. Its one thing to tell people to relax but an entirely different matter if the job is to be done properly, this is reality not a computer game.

Its not a computer game mate, but you gotta keep the faith, our new fella will come in and smash it, keep tight hold of your head and dont let it fall off.

You worry too much. Stop reading those tainted papers or gossip from those Sky 4 supporters.

They want our players? They have to ask Moshiri first and he is no rookie.

A good manager can make do even with loss of "key" players. And there are exciting youngsters coming through. I wanted us to play the entire youth team against Sunderland, Bournemouth and Norwich but alas, Martinez was here till Sunderland.

When was the last time we had a summer where we're buying players left and right? I rather we make good buys than just rush into the market. I am happy the manager talks is taking this long because I want Emery to manage us. If it takes this long for a miracle worker to join us, so be it. Check out his transfer record (though done by Monchi, Emery still has to play the team that works). Then enjoy that beer.

We won't digress much just because we are late in the manager game. We will digress if we appoint the wrong candidate.

Just posting this on the other thread but seeing as it's about Emery specifically I'm posting it in here as well.
ESPN have confirmed The Telegraph story about an hour ago, citing club sources.
Everton to meet with Sevilla's Unai Emery for coaching vacancy - sources
Unai Emery, whose team just lost to Barca in the Copa del Rey, is a front-runner for the Everton job.
Unai Emery will meet with Everton this week to discuss becoming their next manager, club sources have told ESPN FC, with the Spanish coach having emerged as the front-runner for the job.

Just off the back of winning the Europa League for a third successive time with Sevilla, the highly-rated 44-year-old is extremely keen to work in England.

Everton are also impressed with his work and there has already been contact between the two parties.

The Merseyside club sacked Roberto Martinez after finishing 12th in what was a second successive disappointing season, as the club seek to grow in a new era under new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

Unai Emery's Sevilla had an off season in La Liga, but won the Europa League for a third campaign in a row.
Moshiri is willing to give Martinez's replacement considerable funds in the transfer market, with the hope that could prove persuasive in negotiations between Emery's representatives and the club's hierarchy.

Everton, however, still retain an interest in Frank De Boer, Manuel Pellegrini and top target Ronald Koeman, although they are aware that the Dutch coach could be difficult to prise from Southampton.

Emery's side finished their club campaign on Sunday on the short end of a 2-0 result to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey that saw Sevilla finish the match with nine men.

I do hope the $100m is not the only draw though. We need a good roadmap towards the title.

I've mentioned this £100m before. It means little if we can't back the Manager with something nearing that amount that every Summer really. That needs to be the goal Mr Moshiri needs t work towards.
A one off £100m will do little long term to getting Everton to the top 4.

Hopefully Emery would ask the same and that they agree to something do-able.
