That's simply not true. Mariano and Escudero are full backs, offensive full backs.
They are not very good at defending.

The back four have a length of spaghetti between them, not criticising as it's a novel approach to counteract Barca passing around the defence. Suppose it shows he is not rigid to one way of playing.
